I have two boys one 21 who is a mechanic that practices the golden rules. The second 16 can fix things around the house for me and regularly works on restoring old cars. I’m so proud of them.

Just imagine how proud and humbled Dad was.. To produce this calibre of priest. Fr has a tremendous love for him, and, no doubt, he's mother too. Can we see the the gift God gives us in these wonderful people. ❤💪❤

My husband grew up on a farm, but he is very much an inside person with an office job, and if he has to do any repairs he has to watch a youtube video. My oldest son is an honor student who is studying to be an auto mechanic, and I’m so proud of him learning to do practical work!

This book sounds great! My dad passed on so much wisdom to me as a kid. "The jobs not done until the tools are put away". "Leave a campsite better than when you found it". But the one that probably saved my life in these last few years of government lies because I am proudly pureblood and never masked... "Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear".

When I was in my late teens or early 20s, we had an old car. This was in the days when cars had carburetors. Our old car would stall at inconvenient times, like in heavy Chicago traffic. I had my license, but not for very long. One day, that old car stalled. I went into panic mode. Fortunately, Dad was with me and told me he was going to show me how to fix it. First, put the car in park and put on the emergency flashers. Then, lift the hood, take the lid off the carburetor, and hold the butterfly open with a screwdriver. Next, get back in the car, start the engine, and push the pedal to the metal to blow out the black smoke! Worked like a charm! I was confident I could handle that situation efficiently whenever it came up and even started my neighbor's car for him! One day, an elderly man's car stalled in front of a store. I asked him if he had a screwdriver in the car. He wondered what I planned to do with it, and I told him I was going to start his car. When the car started, he was very impressed! I never accepted any reward for helping. My dear Dad is gone for 27 years now, but I carry his love in my heart. He sure took care of his girl. I'm in my early 70s now and still treasure all the things he taught me. What a wonderful Dad God gave me! Sure do miss him! 47:09

Sadly, these days living in the big city (pop. 3 million) service providers always refuse to make their work right for free because they know they will never go without the next customer if you don't come back. Maybe if by a miracle enough documented complaints go in they will get caught but then move onto the next big city and set up shop there. But not the norm for most cities. Love your books Father. Thank you.

My mom started working at age 12, dad at age 14. He lost a lot of his right fingers cutting metal with shears in a mill, at night. Yet made a decent living as an adult with his hands. Shouldnt force college on kids.

Dear Fr. Rippeger. Your dad and my dad were amazingly alike! I’m so grateful to God for such a wonderful man. And a wonderful mother. They had a most loving marriage. Dad could do so many things.

Good to see if there are other factors causing this lack of motivation. Physical and mental health should not be discounted. We don't want to make excuses for any true laziness, but blaming it all on the spiritual evil of sloth is most likely not not an accurate assessment. Clutter causes stress. But it's often a result of other areas in our lives. For the cutter- Don't look at the whole house,as it's too overwhelming. Start clearing one room at a time- one corner at a time- do a first quick sort into boxes to make space, then you can go back and sort more thoroughly what's in the boxes, place want you want to keep in one box, another box or bag for things you can give to charity, etc... Let go of things It's liberating.😊 Father Ripperger always gives us the IDEAL to strive for -so as in everything it's small steps to reach that ideal. I'm struggling too, Sister, so let's pray for each other. God bless from Australia 🙏😍

I would love to see fr ripperger and Jordan Peterson do a podcast ep together. Father is a living saint and the most important theologian and psychologist of our times his name needs to expand well beyond the traditional circles. Society could benefit much from father’s wisdom. Please consider this. I believe great things could come from this.

Of course, I disagree with nothing said. However, what people need is not reflections about how yesterday was better, but how to practically navigate the world as it is before us today and now. With real examples.

Regarding dress and such, real wages are nothing what they were for boomers who had better wages in a civilization collecting 70%+ taxes on the elite that built and maintained infrastructure during a time when manufacturing was strong.

“Sin makes you stupid”. Sad that Fr is eating his own words. He is intellectual but associating with people who hates Pope Francis is just Stupid.
