Don’t worry about not buying a ton of books, financial situations and budgets change and sometimes we just can’t afford it, it’s completely understandable.

Don't apologize. I don't buy a ton of books and I look out for sales or buy some paperbacks from charity shops. Not everyone has the money to spend on dozens of books over $4 which is the price of many ebooks. Paperbacks are even higher.

I didn’t know that folks get upset about bookhauls that are just books received from publishers/free? but I’m not surprised, I guess. When We Left Cuba is a companion that follows one of the Perez sisters a year after they leave Cuba for Florida. I read it last month and... yeah. I loved it for Cuban rep because I really need that. I loved this haul 💕

Don't worry about not being able to buy books. Your video was still a lot of fun to watch. When my husband was working at a job, I used to be able to buy mostly any book I wanted. Now that he is on disability, we are on a budget so I can't splurge much. It does bother me some but I have thousands of books that I haven't read plus I have a subscription to Scribd and I have a library. So, I am not lacking for books. Lots of the books you mentioned sound so good but I definitely have to check out Racing in a Lobster Suit. That sounds so funny!

If you still have your owlcrate subscription, I'm preeeeetty sure that this month's box will contain (possible spoiler!!!) Wicked Saints, so definitely hold off on buying it so you don't end up with duplicate copies! There's no need to apologize for not buying loads of books. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't, that's just life! I know you've been using your library lately, that's a great alternative~

I appreciate the honesty in your preface, most of us don't care how you get the books, we just want to know about the books! I'm always on a budget and there is no need to apologize for not "buying' the books. (my amazon cart is more like a wish list!) Don't apologize for money being tight! It's no ones business. When We Left Cuba is a companion to Next Year in Havana. I'm only halfway through but I would say you could definitely read it on its own. There are some undercurrents of character situations that I feel would be enhanced by reading Next Year In Havana but it's not necessary to read it first. The audiobook for NYiH is AMAZING would highly recommend

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of the best books I've ever read, definitely the best one I read last year. I'm reading Daisy Jones & The Six right now and it's equally as good.

Oh, and I don't care 5hat people get free books. Kudos if people read them all. What I don't get if people who request, "hype" them, and then never read. Others who genuinely might enjoy it may lose out. Also, I've seen a book sent for free *don't care* but find it suspicious that many people have pretty much said the same thing - new favourite. Is it? Can be disingenuous if it's a paid promotion. Just my opinion though.

It's not a big deal and anyone who tries to make it a big deal or complain about it, is not worth your time. Do what's best for you in this season. Heather great video as always. Please stop apologizing to people about how many books you were gifted or publishers sent you. (Its what publishers should do to spread the word ...send yall books to talk about) if someone is JEALOUS which is absurd then they need to start their own gig...It is no ones business if you actually bought the book.
