Wow, what a great book haul! You have such a diverse and exciting taste in books. I'm impressed by how many independent releases you support and feature on your channel. You always introduce me to new authors and genres that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. I'm especially interested in Never Die and The Garden Gnome. They sound like fun and original stories. I appreciate your enthusiasm and passion for books. You are an inspiration to all book lovers. Keep up the good work, Mike! 👍👍👍

Since your kid is super into mythology, I'd recommend the Alchemyst series by Michael Scott. It is a middle grade series which incorporates literally every mythology. Also, if you want to get him into some light horror, try the Monstrumologist series by Rick Yancey

Such awesome stuff! I’m jealous of those shirts haha. My advice for the On Air sign (which is super cool btw) is to buy some cheap tint and tint the front of it so it’s dimmer on camera 🤔 but I guess you need some plastic on there first, yeah…

You won't regret reading Ryan Cahill. the bound and the broken is incredible. Enjoyed it so much I even got a tattoo of one of the characters. Physical copy of War and Ruin is coming soon to the broken binding. Make sure you read the 2 novellas also as they add so much to the 3 main books. Especially the Exile as there are a lot of things in that Novella that feature in book 3. The first Novella is only 90ish pages but gives you a great fast action packed intro to the world and highlights the main catastrophic event that happens 400 years prior to the main series

I will second the Legend recommendations. That book is classic fantasy and you know all the tropes, you mostly know what is going to happen, but man, that book inspires you like no other. I felt like going to the end of the world and back with Druss. He is my favorite character in fantasy besides maybe Glokta and Cosca.

Legend is a stunning novel, especially for a debut novel. Gemmell wrote it after being diagnosed with cancer. He had always wanted to write a novel and it motivated him to do it finally. Later on he discovered that it was a false diagnoses and he didn't have cancer after all. I could not give it a higher recommendation. There's a pretty big time jump between this one and the next in the series so it does read like a standalone.

I’ve had some issues with shipping for The Witcher Orbit hardcover series but so far I’ve got 6 of 8 with the last two on the way and I’m up to midway through Blood of Elves which is my favorite so far, conversions between a few of the characters on a wagon have had me cracking up openly 😅 I did pick up The Folk Lore cycle by John Hood that I will be reading next which is based around the American Revolution with fantasy elements, they came with a couple nice inscriptions from the author so I’m looking forward to reading these and then jumping into the First Law Trilogy.

I just finished Malice by John Gywnne and I really liked it. The characters. The animal companions. But I definitely saw some similarities between Malice and the first book that I read from Ryan Cahill Of Blood and Ruin. I feel more invested in Malice. I liked the writing slightly better in Malice as well as the characters, but I do want to keep going with the bound and the broken series. I actually saw some similarities in Brian Lee Durfee’s series as well.
