I am a big fan, supporter and student of Arthur, but sometimes I find a part or even a whole lesson too fast for me. Your lessons are the complete opposite. And I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to slow things down and repeat each phrase two or three times. Also, breaking the song into a manageable number of bars offers a perfect practice routine. Using your tutorial, I was able to play "Back in the Chicken Shack" all the way through in one week. I'll need another week or two to get the speed up to where it should be, but that's the fun part. Thanks again!!

wow. more good stuff. i like that chromatic turnaround. I may be able to learn this one even in the key of G. LH chop helps keep it simple. i am learning nutrocker, which is also in the key of G. I'm still trying to nail that ladyva stomp LH in Eb. Now that some time has passed, i'm seeing that Eb is actually a nice key for this boogie stuff. I'm still practicing my minor key arrangement of summertime so i can record it, and i still want you and AM to see it some day and maybe polish it up into something really cool. Q? Is the term "tremolo" the correct term for those trills? i understood tremolo to be a volume modulation and vibrato a pitch modulation, neither of which is possible on a piano.

@jj rusy hi 👋🏿 thanks very much for watching and the great feedback 😁❤️ I enjoyed playing State St Special in Eb but I have to admit it’s not my favourite key to play this stuff in 😁 Yes tremolo is correct 😊 a trill on piano refers to notes that are close together, either a semitone or tone ( half step , whole step ) and tremolo is when the notes are further apart 😊 very often tremolos are chords , like for example at the beginning of Boogie Woogie Stomp 😊 The technique is the same though , alternating between two notes or in the case of chords , groups of notes 😊 I’m looking forward to Summertime ❤️🎹

@@jamesthompson6673oh I am sorry 👎🏿 so …. Those 5 notes in the sheet music are a written out tremolo , think of it as a trill but on notes that aren’t next directly next to each other 😊 So basically what I’m saying is don’t worry about precisely how many repetitions of those notes you play . Just play as many as you can in the time allowed ( 3 beats ) The important thing is that you hit beat 4 on time 👍🏿 However , if you want to align it in a more measured way , I suggest playing 6 notes per beat . That would be 4 on the first LH chord on beat 1 and 2 on the second chord ( still on beat 1 ) that way it would fit the swing rhythm more easily 🎹❤️🎹 I hope that makes sense ? This isn’t Arthur by the way 😁🎹❤️🎹
