Fantastic! I use Blender in my own videos so can readily appreciate the amount of effort, brainpower and frustration that you must have been through to achieve the great result you did 😊

That was some real dedication! I'm only familiar with Blender secondhand, as I help a partner with motion tweening because I was good at that in Flash animations, but I can really feel how much trial and error went into making this scene. I hope you were rendering at 1/4 (each dimension halved) or even 1/16 (each dimension quartered) resolution for the test shots! That's a super common thing, but it hardly ever gets brought up in tutorials for some reason. (Think of it like editing video with proxies! You can also turn off a lot of the ambient lighting effects for test renders too.) Great job with the rainbow trail too. Layered delayed copies of the video are so powerful. I used them a lot back in the day for similar trailing halos - though I'm annoyed with myself I never thought to _not_ move the layer, and only delay it by a frame or so, then invert it to highlight motion. Ever since I saw that Posy video I thought "that seems so obvious, why didn't I think of that? I was already so close!" haha. Those paintings of clouds are really lovely. I feel a bit silly saying this, but it took me until this video to realise you were Aussie! (Unless you're not, in which case this is embarrassing.)

Yes I am an Aussie! Thanks for the rendering tips, I did both of those things in a proxy mindset but it was still quite slow unfortunately. I love that posy motion extraction video too, such a simple yet brilliant effect. Glad you enjoyed the process vid, it was a lot!
