Boo Johnson | 'ExChange'
Спорт
Boo Johnson has inspired countless young skaters with his effortless style and talent, but he wants to influence the community to think about the bigger picture, as well. By seizing this year's Go Skateboarding Day as an opportunity to bring inequality and racist violence to the forefront, Johnson's 'Push For Peace' protest made an enormous impact. He shares the motivation behind his activism in The Berrics x StockX's latest 'Exchange' episode.
Join us in celebrating the influence of black and brown skateboarders on our culture-Alphonzo Rawls's 'Thank You' decks are available exclusively via DropX at StockX.com, and proceeds will support Next Up Foundation and the nonprofit's mission to encourage kids of all backgrounds to skate.

Because of Boo I’m buying me a skate board🤟🏾🔥.
Boo came to the juice shop i was working at. I didnt ask him for anything, but he gave me a JHF bracelet. It was very nice of him. I wore it for a long time. He's a great influence for kids, and adults. He inspires me to work on my physical and mental health, and to have fun, which to me is skateboarding.
He’s my favorite skater lmao, he inspires me to just better myself day by day. ASLO helps me learn that you just need to have fun with skateboarding ✊🏾

The skating community has the most relaxed vibes around, you don't even have to know how to skate You can be a poser and still be on the wagon
SkAte fuck color..SKILLS IS ONLY ONE SET.. 🔥
growin up I never looked at skating as something blacks don't do especially because my older b brother got me into it and I've always known different races of skaters living in the bay so it wasn't something foreign. but some people would be like "you're not white why do you do that?" I'd be like "nigga do you know how many races skate? idgaf what you gotta say."

Blueface skates? ✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽 Cool dude
I'm obviously biased, but it's always been my experience that the skateboarding community is extremely inclusive, accepting and diverse... like Kareem Campbell and Dustin Dollin are a part of the same community... I'm hard pressed to think of any other community in which such a dynamic & inclusive environment exists... how can you not be romantic about skateboarding?

Honestly don't like how we are mixing race and skateboarding. That never mattered to us ever in skating. If you rode on 4 wheels you were family.

Yea facts. The whole identity politics shit has no business in skating. The skate community revolves around outcasts coming together and has never been about race.

And still, racism isn't confined to any genre boundaries tho'. I guess you didn't pay attention during the BLM protests, 'cos a lot of black skaters came forward with their experiences. *If in doubt, you'd bet there's racism*

@@michaellimbeck5671 he said the only people making fun of skating was the black community....
The video with Adrianne Sloboh was full of comments from men complaining about politics. now all the comments on this video are all supportive despite the two videos being almost identical. only difference is that yesterday's video featured a woman, and this video features a man. Just admit that y'all hate women and you'll sleep way better at night.

The real problem is why he even has the urge to mention is black background in every second sentance at all. Why cant he just talk about his skills and development, but always has to reference his origin?
No disrespect or anything but can we not make skateboarding about race. Skating has always been a community full of outcasts that treat each other like family and we really can’t let the community become like every other part of modern American society by letting it revolve around race.

This is the first good one of this series from berrics. Boo making this about skateboarding, not skin color, like the earlier ones..
damn almost lost me with the black lives matter grip, why are all these videos lately bringing up race all of a sudden?
‘Brown skaters’ you know, growing up, I never cared or even thought about skin colour. Now it’s all I hear.
