    I do both. My tech does truckmount steam cleaning all day and I do all the vlm (Encap) cleaning. My tech went on vacation for a week and left the van a mess so I called up the scheduled customers and offered low moisture for the price of steam (yes, I charge more for vlm.) All agreed, and are all now scheduling vlm now lol. My tech is not happy but steam cleaning is never going away. I send him to heavy pet jobs and I do all the commercial carpet. I also do all the wood, natural stone, doing a lot more ceramic now with vlm process as well. I am honestly thinking that if he ever leaves that I will go exclusively vlm. Almost 30 years into this and I am no spring chicken anymore lol. Truckmounts and portables are just getting to be too much for me. Great job. I love challenging jobs like this one.

    Thx. Bonnet Carpet Cleaning was my First method of carpet cleaning back in my hotel working days. To me, hot water extraction is much easier. However, when done correctly, VLM is very meticulously and methodical and time sensitive at times.. VLM should be charged the same as HWE or a BIT MORE because of the DRY TIME and CARRYING💪🏽the Machine Around.

    Maybe treat your tech better and not like a piece of garbage. You say, if my tech ever leaves,... the biggest reason why people leave is because of attitude like yours towards employees. I would never want to work for you.

    That is the key... Gotta take your time with the bonnets and rinse them out frequently. Personally I use a crb to agitate and then the correct bonnet to extract... Works great with the Green Dragon or Releasit DS2 encaps.

    I know this is a year late, but do you suggest cleaning commercial carpet with a bonnet or regular truck mount?

  • @tonymoore9128

    @tonymoore9128

    @michaelbeard5432 if it is a restaurant with greasy carpet like gummy traffic lanes. I will hwe the first time. I will try to get back out there within a few months to encap it. The encap resists resoiling much better in my experience. After that, encap on a schedule if possible. If it is just thrashed then we will hwe those areas and then encap as a last step. Offices and hotels, almost always encap.

    I used a truck mount and the carpet was just a little damp when I left. Could walk on the carpet no problem. Dry in one hour, Key is to use very slow, steady movement of the wand and multiple dry passes. I did vlm OP cleaning before, but preferred truck mount.
