    I didn't know that different pads were made for different speeds. Great information. I took over my dad's cleaning business after his stroke. We did a few strip and wax jobs before that, but now I only do it for one of my janitorial contracts. I use the buffer. Great video.

    There are different burnishers, what rpm is yours on ? The thing is the lighter pads are weaker and softer, and can literally start burning from the friction.

  • @TheHomicidalTendency

    @TheHomicidalTendency

    Жыл бұрын

    Im curious if you tried it yet. My thoughts are "it depends on what kind of epoxy and if there is a clear coat" It should buff some scratches out and smooth it, but the epoxy might be too hard and it may do nothing. As long as you don't use a too abrasive pad the worst thing that can happen is you just clean it a little by dry/wet sanding.

    Hey great video ! Just a pro tip - never have the machine plugged in while placing your pads !

  • @ImperialDade

    @ImperialDade

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for your tip. Its definitely good practice to load the pad without the machine plugged in usually. This machine does have a safety that needs to be depressed at the same time the triggers are pulled - so there was not a chance of it starting on accident. On machines with no safety, absolutely do not plug in the machine before putting the pad on.

    thanks! which one would be safe and provide great results for cleaning/buffering an epoxy covered floor? There are many black marks on the floor

  • @ImperialDade

    @ImperialDade

    11 күн бұрын

    Hello! Thanks for watching. Great Question! Without seeing a picture of the floor, the general rule with epoxy floors is that a red pad should clean it well with the correct chemical. A blue pad may work but could scratch the epoxy. If you decide to try to the blue pad, make sure to test it it in a small, inconspicuous area first. Epoxy-finished floors are fairly soft, so you must be cautious of the pads used. That said, the floor cleaner is also a factor. Never use a heavy-duty degreaser as this could also damage the floor. It can be tough to remove black marks, but with an all-purpose cleaner and a red pad, you should get a decent result. We have a walk behind T300 autoscrubber , can that do a quality job stripping vct tile compared to Swing arm machine?

  • @ImperialDade

    @ImperialDade

    12 күн бұрын

    Hi there! Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, an automatic floor scrubber is not the best machine to remove wax from your floor. The machine does not have enough pressure to adequately remove finish. We recommend a swing machine for floor stripping. Aside from reduced pressure, using an automatic floor scrubber to strip wax from the floor can result in machine damage because there is now way to properly clean she stripper and wax residue from the bottom of the machine leading to mechanical failure.

    Hopefully someone is still monitoring these comments. Question: if you have Burnishers, do you even need a side by side/buffer? Or can the burnisher do everything the buffer can, esp. if you have a backpack wax application as well?

  • @ImperialDade

    @ImperialDade

    Жыл бұрын

    Hello! Thanks for watching our videos. Unfortunately, you will need both a floor buffer and a burnisher. A floor burnisher is only going to shine the floor while a floor buffer or side-to-side machine is needed to perform a deep scrub. Hi! Thanks for watching our videos. We do not recommend using a mop and bucket to perform floor cleaning procedures. This method is outdated, time consuming and inefficient. To add, a mop and bucket can actually spread more germs and contaminants than clean. Can you use a burnisher as a buffer?

  • @ImperialDade

    @ImperialDade

    5 ай бұрын

    Hello! Thanks for watching our video! Floor burnishers, while similar in appearance to floor burnshers, serve a different purpose. Buffers and burnishers perform different tasks, and it is important to use the proper machine for the right job. Using the wrong machine to perform a selected cleaning procedure can cause damage to your floor and equipment. Floor buffers are low-speed, operate in a side-to-side motion, and can be used for various applications, including cleaning, stripping, scrubbing, or buffing. Floor buffers, on the other hand, are high-speed machines that drive straight and are only used for floor polishing. For more information on the differences between the two machines, check out our article and video: www.imperialdade.com/blog/differences-between-floor-buffers-and-burnishers

    @-Bryan- the wax gets burned if I leave it in the same area too long, the motor does fine as long as I keep the fight pressure against the pad. The red pad would get me the best finished product but the floors I was burnishing had about 10 layers of wax on them

    What's the difference between buffer and burnisher machine because it looks the same

  • @ImperialDade

    @ImperialDade

    6 ай бұрын

    Hello! Thanks for watching! You are correct. Both floor buffers and floor burnishers appear to look the same, and many confuse the two machines. However, they are two totally different machines used for unique cleaning procedures. A floor buffer is primarily used to strip or remove wax from the floor. Depending on the floor pad, it can also be used to buff, clean, or scrub dirt and scuff marks away. Floor burnishers are only used to polish floors to achieve a high gloss shine.
