My well worn Krementz brand Bonklip style 1940 era bracelet still functions well. Delighted to have found the Forstner with wider end lugs - up to 22mm.

I recently received my 2nd J. Bonnie Bonklip (this time with the watch) and I was genuinely astonished about reports of the band coming loose since I hadn’t experienced anything like that in over a year. Tested, result: The buckle does in fact not lock the end piece but merely forces the steel tongue that latches into the band links in a horizontal position. The tongue can still slide out if the end piece is brought to an upright position, but this only ever happens if the band is worn way looser than intended (like two fingers space loose). To me this is an absolute non-issue and I have never had the band open accidentally.

You are correct in saying that if the Bonklip bracelet is worn properly it will not come un done but if worn loosely it will. Mine has come undone admittedly I like my bracelets a little on the loose side.

Would you be willing to do a short video with the Forster on the Serica?

Do you know why the website lists two movements for the 4512 California? One for mechanical and one for hand winding, but at the checkout you don't get to choose the movement.

It's hand winding only. They use either movement in that watch. Serica believes they are equivalent. Both are problematic. You won't know which you got until you receive it. They use whichever they have access to at the time of production.

No idea but as of now all come with COSC certified movements. 😊 prices have gone up 😢

thanks for the video. I am a new owner of the same Serica the 4512 Commando and I love it with the BonKlip. I was hoping you'd pair it with the Forstner version because I was told that the Forstner is a bit too long....??

Nice review. Would it be possible to detach either the Joseph Bonnie or the Forstner Bonklip if I were to use it on a different watch without drilled lugs?

The Bonnie has small cutouts for access with springbar tool.

Wondering how you are liking the Serica now that you've had it for awhile. Is it getting wrist time? Any issues with the movement? Have you ever been able to get ahold of Serica? I have not. They don't reply to email.

Still own the Serica and yes I wear it often. No issues yet. 😊

would I be able to get the band off and on a watch without drilled lugs. Can I get the springbar tool between the metal end link and the lug ?

Yes you would be able to remove the bracelet with a spring bar tool, just be careful not to scratch the watch.

Yes the difference is in the fastening system and the connection between the links on the Fostner is a little thicker but not by much

Is a bonklip strap look’s good on a hamilton khaki field ?

@@valentind134 the mechanical has a bead blasted case and the BonKlip is brushed with some shiny parts to it

whats the point of showing the forstner if you dont attach it to the watch? downvote.

Because it looks exactly the same lol. The installation is the same the only notable difference is the clasp as shown in close up.
