Remember watching this when I a little boy and feeling sadness for Hoss. I'm 58 now and still feel same way watching this 50 years later. Great performance by Dan Blocker. Always thought he was heart & soul of Bonanza. I remember how sad I was when he passed away.

I used to watch bonanza since I was very young and I still love it now my kids do watch it and they do love it too

He was. David Ladd would also go onto marry future "Charlie's Angels" star Cheryl Ladd and the two had a daughter, actress Jordan Ladd.

Hoss’ mom was killed when he was an infant. How could he remember how he felt? I think the writers forgot that.
