I think the biggest problem I have with this controversy is that they’re using American or Japanese laws when they would have to use Hylian laws. Link hasn’t been arrested for all the damage he does to local property so it seems that the laws must be different there. We cant use either real world laws as a base.

What about the guy who got a love letter from Finley (a child Zora) and didn't see anything wrong with continuing that relationship after he saw what she really looks like? I don't buy that "she is actually an adult!" because 1. Look at her. She looks like a toddler 2. If you start the quest during evening she says how she has to go home soon because *her mom ordered her to* 3. Compared to other Zoras her voice is much more similar to other child Zoras instead of adult ones 4. The dialogue about her growth spurt seems like something a teenager/child would talk about "ugh I'm actually older than I seem, I just look like a baby because I didn't hit puberty yet! But I'm totally not 13 years old!!!" The guy is a creepo, I rest my case

The thing is that Bolson doesn't live in Japan or America. He lives in Hyrule. A land with no king and little left of the once present legal system. If Link wanted him gone there's no one to tell but Bolson. But at the same time there's no one for Bolson to tell if Link tried to make him leave via the sword. Bolson is fine where he is because Link doesn't mind him there. They've reached a silent mutual agreement, he gets a place to hang, and Link gets a free housekeeper.

I didn’t even realise that this was a discourse. I never spoke to Bolson after the wedding, so he never came back to sit outside Link’s house. I can say that I’m glad for that though, I like not having him there. It makes it feel more like my home than a storage box where I keep my stuff. @@davemarx7856 No this gets even more muddy considering Hyrule hasnt actually had a central government for a hundred years, BOTW Hyrule is essentially anarchist. It's possible that Hateno has its own property laws, but it's just as likely that they don't and Bolson can chill on your lawn because there are literally no laws. Of course that means it's within your rights to remove him by force, but that, while not illegal, is in my opinion a dick move.

I always thought of this as bolson’s company has been entrusted with the house by the hateno administration, thought it may still be collectively owned after being abandoned for 100 years. Then link turns up, buys the house and, because he’s mates with bolson, asks bolson to look over the house while he’s gone on an adventure. Then when link returns, they vibe by the fire together. I assume hateno doesn’t have such strict laws as very few act in bad faith or really care that much.

First time i met him I was caught so off guard and i laughed so hard seeing this guy, he WORKS! In more ways than one lol he is a fashion icon, has a team of men who he leads, is an accomplished carpenter and mason. A skill which i know is not the easiest to learn and very masculine. He's a Queen and should be respected!

He worked hard to make my crib look good and I never feel lonely with him chilling on my lawn. Sometimes I even sit with them

Have to admit I didn't think this would be the controversy with Bolson but I'm glad it is lol... I thought it'd be because he's flamboyant. I honestly really like him and I'm glad he stayed by my "house"- he was like 70% of the reason I'd usually even visit. He's fun, friendly, and I sometimes liked to go talk to him even if I knew I was gonna get the same old dialog.

Bruh if you don't want Bolson on your lawn just complete the Tarry town mission, invite Bolson to the wedding at the end of the mission, and don't talk to him again while he's in Tarry town. It's literally that easy. And the best part. Sending Bolson back is not part of completing the side quest! So once the wedding is over you still get your diamonds and quest complete check.

All PC debate aside, I actually liked Bolson and the other guy sitting on Link’s lawn. It makes it more wholesome and really feels like ‘home’. I was briefly scared when they appeared in Tarry town thinking that they wouldn’t come back, but they did. There should be some people Link can come home to at least in BotW 😢
