How can you put a price on the enormous effort to create a product and have it affordable? Pure craftsmanship! These hats should cost thousands!

My mother bought me a black Doeskin Bollman hat with flowers on the front when I was 8 years old. I'm 28 yrs old now and I still have my hat and it's in great condition. I'm glad I decided to look into the craftsmanship of my hat. Very informative video!

My hat's off to CEO Rongione, he obviously knows his business. I was impressed by how much 'hand labor' was involved. I was impressed with the promotion of "American Made Matters", which I had never heard of. This is a seven year old video, I wish good health to Rongione and all his hard working Hatters!

What an awesome family of workers and what great skills they bring to the final product, I wish them all the luck in the world, and if i get a chance to own one of their hats, i will certainly appreciate the quality and tradition that comes with owning one of their great products.

Congratulations on your 152 years of service...I salute..and I'm damn proud to know of an American company that is an 'icon' to the USA that has survived all these years...Keep up the GOOD work!

Very long but wonderful video! I had no idea it took all those processes to produce a hat. I came across this video in researching the Adamstown area where we'll be staying for a few days. I'll be looking for the "American Made Matters" label when buying future hats and I'll never look at a hat the same again. The CEO did a wonderful job narrating this video.

Rabbit and the rarer Beaver Felts costs are significantly higher to manufacture. The Production Process is similar to Wool Felt which is better when processed into "Lite Felt" Wool. It depends on the Manufacturer also for the Price Point to sell the Hats.

@@jameskann951 Thanks for your reply. It seems that fur felt hats are out of style (except for western wear) and one of the reasons is the shops that cleaned and blocked them are mostly gone. too bad, because a broad brim adds a lot of "class" to a man's appearance.

"This hat here was the indiana jones hat" Ummm... the Indy hats were made by Herbert Johnson, apart from the fourth film in which the hat was made by a fan company called Adventurebilt. Maybe that was a licenced hat, but even then I'm pretty sure the licensing rights for indy's hat belong to dorfman pacific and before them, stetson. To my knowledge the bollman hat company has never made an official Indy hat of any kind.
