What trees do you look for? Heard beech trees are great for them but Never had any luck

I definitely find beech and oak to be significant for certain species, but the one in this clip grows exclusively in association with pine. In this case it was in a grove of Loblolly. (Pinus taeda)

99% of these big ones I've ever found in WNC are horrendously bitter species. There are good ones out there though.

Yep. There are way more bitter than delicious. However the one in this clip is B pseudopinophilus and it happens to be extremely delicious and choice.
