hahaha Amanita Muscaria (fly agaric) is not poisonous, it has been used by pagan peoples, and hindu peoples for thousands of years, the mushroom induces dream-like states of awareness, and causes visions and intense dreams.

***** no it doesnt. I eat these all the time and depending on how much is eaten it will relax in small doses and make you hallucinate in high doses. Don't speak on something you have never tried. You don't need to change anything to hallucinate. Quit talking like you know. You have obviously never tried them.

Abde Eldewini he is one of those people who thinks he knows what hes talking about without even trying it. Hes an idiot and should be ignored. All this idiot has to do is a google search and bam hes proved wrong. Or try the mushrooms himself and learn from experience. But hed rather post just to post without having any knowledge. While its true people would drink the pee of others who have ingested the mushroom, it is not necessary to trip or feel the effects. That was done as a ritual for the right of passage of divinity. This guy is a moron.

It is psychedelic and it also has neurotoxic chemicals in its fruiting body. Young children and older people are most likely to be killed by it. In the lands where they take it ritually, it used to be filtered by either women or reindeer eating the mushrooms and the shamans ingesting the urine, basically using another living being as a filter. These days, it's sold online as a purified powder, the neurotoxin chemically filtered out and the fun bit left in. There are much safer, more entertaining mushrooms to choose from if you were so inclined.

Only by ingesting ridiculously large quantities has it ever been harmful...anyone who eats 50 caps of a mushroom that they are not sure of pretty much gets what they deserve, imho. No confirmed deaths ever by amanita muscaria except for one possible example of overindulgence. Prepared properly, they are actually quite tasty...used properly in a 'medicinal' manner, quite pleasant. Don't believe everythng you read.

I had a boyfriend who was an MD and he had a Ph D in Physics. He was bored last New Years Eve and crawled into a cow pasture to get mushrooms. He ate them and vomited for 5 straight hours. It’s a wonder he didn’t die. When he was in college, he put horse manure in a pressure cooker to purify it so he could grow magic mushrooms on it. It exploded and it covered to whole room. Do you see why he’s my ex boyfriend?

+Marijuana Man No. This guy has it all wrong. Amanita muscaria is a hallucinogen, but is not "magic". Muscimol is completely different from psilocybin. This is another one of those videos that spreads false information about amanita muscaria being deadly. There's only been about one or two deaths recorded. Muscimol and psilocybin are not party drugs, and if you're looking for a quick and free high, leave the mushrooms be.

  • @cameronloren7219

+lol pls Amanita muscaria is poisonous, as well as the psilocybin mushrooms. To the same extent that alcohol is poisonous... you take to much you die. The Amanita muscaria (fly agaric) is much more toxic than the Psilocybe genus of mushrooms (and related genera). It contains the psychoactive compounds ibotenic acid and muscimol, which are both much more toxic than psilocybin. Yet they actually sell the fly agaric dried at some head shops, completely legal, even though it'll kill you much more readily than the species of the psilocybe genus. There's only been two cases that I know of people dying from psilocybin mushroom poisoning, one was a young child, and the other was someone who had consumed a copious amount of a certain species (Psilocybe semilanceata) that contains high levels of baeocystin (4-phosphoryloxy-N-methyltryptamin) and norbaeocystin (4-phosphoryloxy-N-tryptamin) compared to other species of the Psilocybe genus. The ones that contain higher levels of those chemicals do seem to be correlated to more negative physiological responses, such as nausea, abdominal pains, enuresis, hyperreflexia, violent or on the opposite, sleepy euphoria and unrestness, pain in the lower limbs, parasthesia, mydriase, tachychardia and hypertension, and even temporary (few seconds to a few hours) paralysis. Anyways adverse physical side effects from the psilocybin mushrooms are really rare and almost only manifest when large doses are taken (as far as I know, which is pretty short). sources and good reads: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscimol en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibotenic_acid www.shroomery.org/6301/Fatal-Poisoning-After-a-Group-of-People-Voluntarily-Consumed-Hallucinogenic-Mushrooms www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_info4.shtml PS the shroomery community is a great resource as well as erowid.

+Marijuana Man It's said that the fly agaric is less "psychedelic" and more intoxicating, and also people have severe physical effects from it much more often than negative physical effects from psilocybin mushies. I don't know though, I've never tried the fly agarics, I've never been curious until I saw a documentary about them, now I am slightly curious in it.

  • @colingoodwin2086

A death cap, also known as " amanita phalloides" often needs a mycelium attached to a tree, often and typically oak in order for it to thrive because death cap mushrooms give the oak trees H2O and minerals, while the death cap mushrooms receive glucose from the mycelium attached to the root of an oak, which achieves symbiosis, and ultimately forms a mycohorizal relationship, it's good for the fungus, but also good for the tree. Nobody quite knows why a death-cap mushroom is deadly poisonous or how it evolved into such a dangerous mushroom in existence of today, but scientists have discovered that the severity of toxins such as amanitin " a type renal and hepatic low-weight molecular cyclopeptide that re-enters the bloodstream resulting in repeated major damage to kidneys and liver" and phalloidin " a type of gastric irritant that causes symptoms that mimic "cholera" which is a type of food poisoning caused by "vibrio" found contaminated shellfish, so violent vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhoea are often the first symptoms of poisoning from death-caps 24 to 48 hours after ingestion, the effects and symptoms of liver and kidney from the "amanitin" is delayed, "amanitin" is also heat-resistant, so cooking it won't make it safer or less dangerous to eat since it retains the "amanitin" under extreme high temperatures." The olive, white or yellow caps either domed or flat, with crowded and free white "never brown, they stay white despite age" gills, a white ring around a white stem and with a egg like sac are it's distinctive identifying features, often found hidden in leaf-litter. I am not trying to scare anybody, but educate people about this deadly mushroom that has claimed deaths through being mistaken for edible mushrooms, it's claimed poisonings in over 25,000 published cases. I hate to come across as a very boring, and an uncommon unadventurous "party-pooper", but also say this to people who also forage trying looking for the so-called "magic-mushrooms" for a cheap thrill as I have also sadly unbelievably and frequently seen in the harmful comments on youtube, but you can confuse magic-mushrooms with mushrooms like the funeral-bell mushroom "galerina marginata" which can grow near magic-mushroom, and it is given the deadly "warning-name" because it has also been given a "deadly academy award" as funeral-bell mushrooms also contain "amanitin" just like the death-cap mushroom does. Amanitin poisoning is a very serious emergency matter of medical significant importance, and urgently needing a kidney and liver transplant to survive highly painful kidney and liver necrosis when a stomach-pump is useless so you have to drink bad-tasting activated-charcoal to vomit combined with IV rehydration-therapy to replace severely lost electrolytes that can either cause seizures or coma, along with the long-term emotionally and psychologically painful trauma to both the victim and their families & friends, will not be a cheap thrill in the end, and nobody will be wanting to party afterwards either. Thanks for reading.

Love the video, very well explained. These mushrooms are so beautiful, and apart from the Fly Agaric so well known in fairytale, it is easy to mistake them for something edible. This is a huge subject and one that scares me a little when I'm out foraging. I only stick to those I know. Fraser informs us clearly about this series of shrooms... I found this film really easy to understand. Thank you. xxx
