Thank you, your method for this effect is definitely easier that others I've seen & tried. After just a few minutes of watching this video, I liked, subscribed & clicked the notification bell~ I really appreciate your making sure the camera can "see" what you're doing, showing an example of the completed effect before you start (as well as referring back to it now & again), thoroughly explaining the steps & what you're doing, including tips like pencil lead sharpness & pressure, &, finally, your voice is pleasant, calm & well paced (not harsh & rushed) as well. I think I'll consider experimenting with eye shadows as well, to see how that medium might look with this technique : ) My hands are fussy & get tired & sore easily, so I find using eyeshadows & chalk pastels easy on the hands for achieving similar effects. Thanks so much for sharing this technique, I look forward to watching more of your videos!

Well that made it so clear! I've watched several colorists doing bokeh and I stared in disbelief, how did they decide where to put in the circles? This made me realize that you pre-think the location of the bubbles first, then proceed. I will attempt to do this again, after a few disappointing trials. Thank you again for your very gentle and sweet approach to coloring!

Patti Graham I’m so glad you enjoyed it! The bubbles don’t have be symmetrical but it does help with placement and planning. Bokeh can be made overly complicated. I find this way I developed the best way to teach so that everyone can have a go.
