"Im sober , I can remember now."
So relatable, traumatizing, sickening, hilarious, meaningful, and calm at the same time. This show deserves more than just a Netflix original badge
I remember I watched this in middle school, now Im in college and each season hits harder. I thought it was a fun cool adult cartoon with some depressing moments But now... it hurts that I never truly understood how great this show was until its final couple of seasons. Thanks Bojack 👍

@@Asehpe I don't think there's such a thing as "happiness" in Bojack Horseman, but maybe sometimes he will get to be happy, and he will get to be sad as well. I think the important thing is that he will get to know why and that it doesn't always have to be one or another. (Excuse my English)

Asehpe No one gets to “be happy.” It doesn’t exist, you experience moments of happiness, but it’s not a state of being. The horse doesn’t get to “be happy” because no one can “be happy.” He can start to live a life where he likes what he’s doing and how he’s doing it, but that’s not “being happy.” That’s just living.

This is the darkest show I’ve seen. Every other show is dark because characters deal with like gangs, drug empires, apocalypses. This is dark because the characters deal with stuff that happens in our life, broken relationships, career failures, addiction, dumb drunk mistakes

That's a really good way to describe it.
I was rewatching this show year ago and back then the quote "it takes a long time to realise how truly miserable you are and even longer to realise that it doesn't have to be that way" didn't sound close to me, but it sticked for some reason. And today I was rewatching to relax a bit after finishing the first few paragraphs of the book that I stopped writing four years ago and I have no idea why I didn't come back to this sooner. And now this quote hits different. Oh it hits so different.
Personally I'm glad Bojack Horseman is ending on a high note (on terms of writing). If it wasn't ending, his rehab would've meant nothing and he would've regressed for the sake of the plot continuing.

I rarely comment on videos but this is a must. I relate a lot to Bojack. I always wanted to be loved and to have a successful life but my selfishness ruined it because I was never satisfied with I had. Everything was crumbling around me, I was depressed and i couldn’t control anything in my life. So I worked harder and pushed myself to the limit. But as days passed, I was even more depressed and things soon fell apart. I hurt and pushed the people who loved me away from me because all I cared about was my success and that was very selfish. It was after a heartbreak that I realized what I’ve become. Bojack had everything but he wasn’t satisfied because of his selfishness. And in this season, after rehab, he started to care about the ones around him instead of just himself and things started to get better for him. This is why I relate to him. I stopped caring until I lost everything. Now I’m taking back control of my life and stopped thinking just about myself. Thank you Bojack for being there when I was in need and thank you for showing me my flaws, flaws I neglected for a long time.

A good friend of mine started showing me this series midway into the second season whenever I'd hang with her at her house. She said it was the best thing ever. I really didn't get it at the time and just got bored. Comedy Central started showing it not long after, and I decided to start actually paying attention, particularly out of respect for my friend and what she appreciated. Took a few more episodes, but once I got it, I was friggen mesmerized. It really is an incredible feat in both writing and animation. It's gotten me through a lot of my own personal ghosts. My favorite quote of the entire show: "Every day it gets a little easier... but you gotta do it every day. That's the hard part." ❤

October will be my 1 year anniversary of therapy. This show really helped push me into the decision to start. I never felt "bad enough" for it. Therapy made me realize that not only was my childhood terrible, but it's okay to go even if it wasn't. I now see it more like visiting a medical Dr. You'd see a medical Dr if you had concerns, not just when you're on the verge of death. I didn't have to wait until I literally believed I was going insane just to even start therapy.
