Boys make sure you checked that 737 everyday we don't want another incident from Indonesia so the back wing that stands in the middle that thing gets stuck and it shoots to the right and I'll pull you down so be careful we always pray for you guys
Personally, I think the best thing about this video was the decision to concentrate on the PFD till very nearly the end so that we can appreciate what the pilots were seeing in taking the decisions they did and monitoring their outcomes. We've missed just how dramatic the low visibility was outside, no doubt, but under the circumstances the PFD was, in my opinion, far more important. Good call!!

This is one of the best videos. Good camerawork and explanations of the captain and copilot
Runway visual: 20 ft above the runway???????? Amazing!
Absolutely amazing video wonderful pilots. ..loved the view of the clouds ..brilliant filming thanks so much love an god bless x

Excellent video and great information provided by the flight crew, fantastic to watch. 👏👏 Hell you could hardly see the follow-me vehicle, great landing👌👌
Yeah....I'm enjoying
Awesome video!!
Absolutely awesome video and this shows how poor the visibility was and how the crew dealt with this situation and completed an auto land. Great vid.
Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
great job, and great explication, thank you ein richtig schön gute Morgen!
Excellent discussion about auto land!
Fog landing videos are always so cool. It makes me anxious doing it in something like X-Plane, I can't imagine doing it in real life. Autoland still weirds me out to use.
Good to see the paper charts once again. Haven’t seen them in such a long time. Really takes you back quite a while.

It's like floating on top of amazing clouds with a beautiful sunset ahead of you. I enjoy listening to and watching these pilots as they control this amazing aircraft. Hot approach? As in fast? One should be on speed and fully configured by the FAF?
This is one of the most amazing videos of the cockpit I have seen. To suddenly see the runway infront of you just as the plane is landing is quite shocking. I did not know that any plane had the ability to land in fog like that on auto pilot. As the pilot, I would find that extremely unnerving.

Why do you call it a HOT approach? HOT usually means an unstable either high or fast, this approach was neither. Excellent video thanks, training question; is it logical to do doing the after landing procedures whilst coming off a runway in LVO conditions? PMs primary role, in this situation, is monitoring and to make sure that the Capt doesn't taxi on to the grass or down the wrong taxiway or it an obstacle.

Sure, and they almost repeated their crash last year. But Armavia also had a similar crash with an A320. In the end, some basic piloting skills must simply be available. Also, in this video it was a fully automatic go-around.
Scary shit brah
But in the 787 Dreamliner doesnt work
I would leave the autopilot on as long as possible on rollout just in case your vis deteriorates .this was always a debrief item working as a check airman.

@@tamefroggy no, most 737s just like the one you see in the video are fitted with a fail passive autopilot system, the autopilot cannot control the rudder. And it can work even with a cat I ILS.

The 737 in this video has a fail passive autoflight system, therefore they are limited to a CAT IIIA approach. CAT IIIA has a DH of not less than 50ft and reported touchdown RVR not less than 200m.
👍👍 #
And there a those people that think pilots aren't needed anymore. Weather like that, without a human pilot there, I wouldn't step on a plane.
Is 132kts typical for landing? I was under the impression that it was typically 140kts at touch down.
@AkiraAkiyama
3 жыл бұрын
Actually 737 has a higher landing speed if they use flap 30 compared to the other Boeing planes. But flap 40 can be used for shorter runways or during bad weathers/visibility. So they decided to use flap 40 and which gives them a slower speed for landing. Plus they were not heavy so 131kt is an appropriate speed for landing. If they are basically empty, the speed can drop down to 125kt or so.
@JohnnyRawks

@@AkiraAkiyama Thanks!
Is it was CATIII or CATII landing?
@md1400cs
3 жыл бұрын
that was a CAT III -- CAT II allows for visual references at DH usually approx 200' but not less than 100' as well as at least 1,200' for RVR (runway visual range) - CAT III does not (DH 50' RVR 700') . Pilots need to be trained for using either, aircraft needs the equipment as well as the runway ILS tech CAT installed. I've done a lot of CAT IIs when I was working in B737-200s - retired now -- CAT IIIs are another story. No CATIIIs - a bit scarier --- MJD

Why does tower say several RVR readings? Do they correspond to different runways?
@stefanzivkovic99
3 жыл бұрын
For aircraft to autoland, runways must have special equipment for measuring visibility. RVR stands for runway visual range. Autoland runways must have 3 separate visibility measuring instruments corresponding to thirds of the runway. When the controller says 175/175/175, those are readings from 3 separate visibility measuring machines at the beginning/middle/end of the runway. Hope this explains it somewhat :)

No. The only parameter you need is a positive rate of climb, just like on take-off. Only when you achieve a safe altitude you can accelerate and retract the flaps further (they're set to 15 for a dual engine go-around upon initiation of the go-around).
