BOEING 737 200 out of Iqaluit + Cockpit Presentation

Being able to still fly a classic like the Boeing 737-200 today is pretty amazing! JustPlanes paid a 2nd visit to CANADIAN NORTH to focus a full Flightdeck Film on the dash 200 and with 10 flights filmed, 9 in the cockpit, we also wanted to include a takeoff and landing with a view on the wing and engine which you can see on this video.
Ten years ago we first visited Canadian North and we're delighted to be visiting this great airline again mostly because it allows us to feature a full program now in HD on this fantastic aircraft which is becoming harder to find as time goes by. The program covers half a dozen great destinations out of the airline's Edmonton hub with some great approaches and very nice scenery. Most importantly we have 2 sets of pilots who go above and beyond to present every aspect of the 737-200 in complete details to you and take you step by step through each flight as they explain what they're doing and how each flight progresses.
+ Cockpit filming using 6 cameras for great views on takeoff & landing!
+ Program shows several wing views on takeoff/landing including trust reverser operation
+ Company Presentation
+ Pilot Presentations
+ Briefings & Checklists
+ Cockpit set-up
+ Cockpit Presentations
+ External Walkaround
+ Fantastic scenery

There is something about this particular aircraft that is so sweet and friendly. Must be all those years of providing such a crucial lifeline. I hope this old girl never sees a scrapyard.

Thank you for sharing! Very nice of the pilots and all involved going out of their way to show us this, much appreciated! That plane is probably a favorite of pilots to fly.

I always found that those little engines seems small for that size plane, much like the hair dryer engines on the A340...hehehe (Video#2)

Those engines may be small, but for the time those pratt and whitney JT8D-17s could produce a fair amount of thrust. Now those engines seem like nothing, but were a deal a while ago.

732 combi with gravel kit! Now there's a northern girl. My kind of plane, even if she is a little shrill.

Gravel kit to prevent gravel from damaging the airplane. Gravel is used for runways in the north as concrete isnt suitable at cold temps. However gravel is loosely bound and can fly up and damage the plane. Another part of this kit is the air nozzles infront of the engines which reroute a jet of air infront of the engine inlet fo prevent gravel intake.
