Body Line Paintless Dent Repair Break Down | PDR Training Tutorial

My name is Myke Toledo. I’m a passionate paintless dent removal technician since 1991. I professionally teach one on one PDR training since 2001. I understand the details are what makes the major steps of pushing and tapping cleaner. You’ll find my tutorials super specific, clear with top camera angles so you can see what I see.
Not everyone can afford the best training. So myself and John Highley co founded www.denttrainer.com to help newbies and veterans stay aware of all the new PDR techniques, tips and tools.
This youtube channel is a fraction of what I have to offer. I encourage you to please consider Dent Trainer if you are serious about learning paintless dent removal or even more important, BEFORE you invest in some PDR school you don’t know much about.

AMAZING WORK! This is just a public service announcement. Don't go with the low quote on PDR!! I went with the low quote, had pretty good Google reviews and 30 years experience but still FUBAR'd my door panel. Was just two dents, did cross the seam so not exactly basic, but got 3 quotes and nobody said it was an impossible job. Anyhow, he cracked paint and the area literally looks like a golf-ball. To fix it, has to go conventional body/paint now. And the joker who did the work is refusing to acknowledge any responsibility. Be careful who you choose for your work!

Couldn’t agree anymore. Furthermore.. Well, you see, there is a common misunderstanding when it comes to the art of paintless dent repair. Some people view it as a simple transaction, akin to purchasing a carton of milk from the store. However, this is a misguided perspective. PDR technicians possess a diverse range of talents and expertise, not unlike a plastic surgeon. When seeking the services of such a specialist, it is not wise to prioritize cost over quality. Instead, one should seek out the very best in the field, just as they would with any other professional service.

I’m self teaching myself with videos and when my dad brings me to the junkyard I bang out dents and practice my skills, I have been using a socket extension with a rubber end that fits into the female part, I’m not nearly this good, but I’m getting better every time we go to the yard!

I could watch these all day. I had not even heard of PDR before last week. Turns out that we have a highly regarded PDR shop in the area. My car went in today so that two dents that have been irritating me for 4 years can be fixed. This really is magic. Thanks for the videos explaining the process!

THANK YOU MYKE! This is definitely a technique combined with an art form. Patience is obviously a major factor cause you can always do a little more as you cant remove your mistakes as easily once made. Its an almost lost art as good paintless dent repair guys are very hard to find. Hopefully more people including insurance companies utilize this field whenever possible in order to grow the field. You are an excellent teacher! I only wish you would have shown us how to properly use the heat since you mentioned it. People need to stress how important is is to salvage the original paint whenever possible for many reasons! Thank god for people like you posting these videos! You demonstrate true professionalism Myke! May God bless you well! Do you ever use dry ice? Or is that an over rated myth? I have seen old school bodymen use it on larger bare metal jobs combined with heat but not on paint, Thank you!!!

I just discovered these videos. I find this process fascinating. I am 57 now and retired but getting bored fast and looking at a new field to get into. Would you recommend this as a second career for someone my age? Of course I want to be my own boss eventually. Would you set up a brick and mortar or start a mobile service. I was looking at doing a mobile service focusing on a repairs like this. Small and "quick". I say quick because I was thinking this was about 3 hours max.

Thanks for the question. Depends. Todays cars are like beer cans. Very flimsy. However newer vehicles are going aluminum and that is twice as difficult. Older vehicles are like tanks but metal is much easier to shape with less chance of oil canning.
