pretty good review on the head strap, if I had a quest 3 I'd definitely get the strap with it as well.

I've hears the M2 Plus and M3 are identical apart from the arms. But you can buy the arms separately to upgrade your M2 Plus to connect to a Quest 3

Thor here - that's right! BoboVR sells a conversion kit. I decided not to go that route due to availability at the time and I plan on keeping my Q2 for the time being. I also have the 'first gen' M2 which so I was concerned the conversion kit may not have worked as well.

I just got in the BINBOK headstrap since I couldn't find the Bobo and I have to say that it's much more comfortable than the Bobo, 2 hot swap batteries included. Don't know about the battery life but the comfort is the best I have tried! Great video!

Thor here - thanks! The BINBOK looks great and the batteries have a bit more than the Bobo so you would think it would do better. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bobo (and others) release an updated battery next year.

@@WorknTheVerse Lol, I can definitely say that the battery is way better and I loved the Bobo but the BINBOK is definitely superior in comfort and in the overall battery style and power. You can actually lay down with it on (Pillow is kinda cool)! Thank you!!

@@md12962 I had the Bobo but I had to use the adapters to make it fit the quest 3. I can say that the BINBOK battery gave me about 6 hours of AW2 straight (charged quest and fresh battery) before I got the low battery alert. I played another 3 hours after swapping the battery and never died on me. From what I've seen the Bobo battery is going to need to change the shape and make a better battery. I would still recommend it for the Quest 2 but the BINBOK is definitely my favorite quest 3. I am looking at the kiwi brand. I know the main point is that the batteries are compatible with the quest 3 headstrap but it is not really good enough battery life for the 3. Just my opinion, I started with the Lenovo star wars and have had the quest go, 2, 3 and the rift.

I sold this strap already and got the anna pro battery strap(this one keeps the battery at 100%) Also sometimes i like to lay down with a pillow behind my back, thats impossible with the bobovr m3 headstrap because off the battery.. |With the annapro battery headstrap i can..But for the rest it was fine. But nice video..

Thor here - Nice to hear about other options. I stayed with BoboVR because of my Q2. I took a quick look and I can see why the Annapro would be a great alternative. Lighter, more amps for the battery, and almost twice the charging power.

Not sure what you means about 'this one keeps the battery at 100%"...? I just got my Bobovr strap yesterday and I've been playing it and my Quest battery stays at 100 % charged until the bobovr battery died (after around 1h30 of gameplay). I'm just curious to know what issue I should expect with this battery going forward....

Thor here - lots of different experiences that are likely based on how one uses their headset, expectations, and when they got their head strap. So far for me, I’ve been happy. But I’m also not in my headset for several hours at a time, either.

The forehead indentations is not because of the fabric used, it's because the shape of the headpiece is too round and too small. The pressure pushes on the "corners" of your forehead. It's not an even pressure. I think I might try to reshape mine with a heat gun. Or I might try to add more cushioning?

One more thought - I saw that someone used a small flat head screwdriver to coax the velcro through. I think I got lucky and just hit it right to give enough pressure to thread it through without having to resort to other means.

Thor here - A worthy test indeed. I'll see if I can find some time to do just that. The other day my son got the Q3 down to 5% and of course I didn't have the battery near by. He bailed before I even had a chance to grab it. C'est la vie!

A very 'unsophisticated test' - got the headset down to about 22%, plugged in the battery and... by the time I was done playing Demeo (Skirmish mode, VR), the headset had gone up to 29% with 1 light left on the battery. My guess I was in for about an hour? I was happy with the results. If I had more time then I would want another battery but for now, it works for me.

All i am looking for is a comfortable headset where it stays on and the quest 3 can move up or down, almost like a welding helmet… so when someone does come in my office i can lift the headset up and talk to them, when done I can just lower it again, without having to reset everything again

  • @WorknTheVerse

@ease868 The BoboVR M3 certainly does this. There's also an option to wear it without the face plate - it's akin to the Quest Pro design. The one time I tried it, I wasn't a big fan of it. Hard to get the 'sweet' spot right. Now that I have prescription lenses for my Q3, doesn't make sense to try it again - kzread.info/dash/bejne/X2drzZZyobfgnLQ.html

One thing I've found though is with the Q3 passthrough when talking to people they don't seem nearly as bothered compared to the Q2. Probably because you're actually looking at them directly vs. 'guessing' in the Q2.
