Bobcat Mating Behavior | Vocalizations

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

At the end of February and beginning of March 2023 one of my trail cameras captured some interactions between what I believe is a female (Queen) and Male (Tom) bobcat. I think this was mating behavior and it includes quite a few vocalizations, so make sure to turn your volume up! I hope you enjoy this wildlife footage.

A very interesting interaction for sure. I assume it's mating behavior, but could be territorial I suppose.

Hi Colin, Rick from MooseMan youtube channel. Need some help, having big trouble with some expensive trail cams, hoping you will share your make and model of exact camera you're using...looks like maybe a Browning, ....appreciate the help, we watch all your posts. thanks

Hi Rick, Oh no! I am using Browning Recon Force Advantages, but unfortunately they are out of production, which is a real bummer as they are the best. However I've started using the new Browning Recon Force Elite HP5 cams as the Advantages wear out and so far I'm getting great quality, although one camera did start to have an audio issue after the first year, so we will see. I need to sit down and catch up on quite a few of your videos and do some binge watching, as they are the best!

@@MaineWoodsbooger Very nice reply, appreciate that. We have four Browning Recon Force Edge 4k. here's my issues. None of them have audio, can't find it anywhere in the menu to turn it on, just weird...noticed your audio is great. recently 2 of the 4 cameras have quit. One has nothing but a light gray fuzzy screen when turning on, the other has quit completely. If you have any ideas on the audio, that'd be great. We're filming a couple different bobcat dens close to home, (winter gig) and you know what we do in the autumn, lol. We love your channel, nice work and thanks for being part of ours too. I may try to model you mention, I'm actually surprised ours have acted up, but they definitely have.

@@MooseManNaturePhotos ah....the Edge. I went through the worst time of my trail camera hobby with them. I think I went through 13 of them and finally gave up. They all had major issues. I figured since the Advantage was so good that the next model would be better. I lost a ton of great footage. I wish I had better news, so sorry to hear about the issues you are having. I would move on. You could reach out to the folks at trailcampro.com They have been great to work with for me. You guys get the absolute best moose videos!

Just like a girl hiding behind the curtains ... Even if she's ready to breed, and doesn't know what to do with herself ! Excellent footage which is documentary quality. Did you set up there for the cats ?

Thanks Charles, I think you are right. I did set this location up based on seeing bobcats there and their tracks. It's been one of my favorite cam locations. "The Ledge". I'll having a longer video coming soon.
