Lucky me, I got to rebuild my Hydrostatic Pump over the winter of 2022-2023 off my T320. The right side was trashed from running with no oil due to a blown O-ring on the gear pump face. Expensive rebuild, but still cheaper than buying a new or rebuilt pump. So while this video came out after I was done, this was exactly what you do.

So i dont have these parts in my hand but as a toolmaker I would hope that some, maybe all of these wear parts could be made. Some tools beyond a mill and lathe you may need are an id od grinder and tools to measure a high resolution of tolerance. You may also need to farm out some edm or wire work for the hardened parts and heat treat will need to be outfitted or farmed out

Would like to see a tear down of an R series manual control machine. Haven’t had to do one yet. Just had to do one on an SJC R series machine. Assume it’s not too much different.

I have that same unit and it leaks from the Bottom “where you can see of course “ when it warms up. Everything works fine , I just keeps adding fluid. Getting bad. What’s the first thing I should look at? With a scope, it looks like it’s coming from the very center of the unit, between the right and left pump. Any advice would be awesome love the video, thanks

Well timed video for me as my right side drive is seemingly losing strength. I can direct my mechanic to this video as a baseline; and possibly have him at least check the Hydraulic Pressure relief valves and for wear on the valve plate and swash plates. S185

I have a small bobcat loader S70 it seems to be very slow lifting or tilting the bucket and also weak struggles to lift half a bucket of dirt, however driving forward or backward it is strong and quick no issues at all, would this be a problem with the pump or maybe hydraulic control valve looking for some help thanks Frank

I have hydraulic fluid pushing out of a green cap on the drivers right side of the machine. Can’t seem to find what this pump is called and a video on replacing it/rebuilding it. I have a picture but can’t send it on here.

Can the pump shaft be removed while still attached in the machine? I recently changed the shaft seal in my t300 while everything still in the machine. After getting it all back together and running it, 3 hours later it started leaking again. I’m wondering if my shaft where the seal goes is possibly worn down causing an oem seal to not actually seal

Thank you so much for a excellent video. I have an old JD 125H I'm about to tear into. I'm worried about parts for it because it's so old. If the trust plate washer is worn on one side, can it be flipped to the other side if no parts available for it?

I love how these companies work, they make it too expensive to fix your own bought and owned property yourself. Pump needs a few parts and you might as well buy a whole new pump. Ridiculous. Someday the only people who will be able to afford equipment at all will be huge companies.

I work at a lawn mower shop, we run into this with the hydrostatic drives on them. The manufacturer tells you to tear it down amd see what's wrong with it but then you can't get parts to fix it, so you have to replace the unit.

In fairness, bobcat doesn't have a lot of say in this. Sauer Dan Foss makes the pump, Bobcat is just buying complete units themselves. If Sauer won't sell individual parts, Bobcat can't sell them either.

If these pumps drive your wheels? What supplies pressure to your axillary lines? Example., What pumps pressure to spin the blades of a rotary cutter / Brush cutter? (Bobcat 863G)

Can someone please answer a question for me? I took the tandem hydrostatic pump off my 1993 bobcat 853 to have it looked at because it was leaking really bad at a factory seam on the front left side. I dropped it off an all I wanted them to do is tell me if was fixable or not. They stripped it all the way down to the very last bolt without my permission took them about an hour to do so, at 150 an hour. Now they wanna charge 600 to 800 to put it all back together (WITHOUT FIXING IT) Now I'm stuck with 3 full boxes of hydraulic pump parts that I don't know W.T.F. to do with. or even where to start to put it back together. I'm pissed as hell they automatically assumed I was gonna have them fix it. Any suggestions about what I should do cause it will cost at least 5k for a remanded one. I don't have that kind of money. Should I sue them in small claims court? All I want them to do is fix it and put it all back together at no cost to me. I don't want to get any money from them. I just want it put together an that would be good enough for me. They also told me it was done when I called. An fixed on the phone when it wasn't. So now I'm stuck with a bobcat that has no motor in it because I had to pull it all the way out just to get to the pump. So I have no bobcat an 3 boxes of hydraulic parts. Did they really have to tare it all the way done like that? Or are they being ASSHOLES? feels like entrapment...

Ya, the cartridge filter usually behind the seat has a large rubber hose to the pump.Remove the house going to the pump and dump a couple of quarts and you should be good.

Good content but in reality those slippers on the pistons could be lapped, same with the pistons and the cylinder and the valve plate. Effectively putting the pump back to good working condition for far less than a rebuild pump.
