@@antifowiec6600 I think I get what you're trying to say lol. It's just that animal races are not categorized the same as humans. These animals are not the same breed or even species, as one is a Wild Bobcat turned domestic to a point, and the other is a housecat that has been domesticated for thousands of generations. Racism obviously doesn't exist among animals because there isn't really race. In nature there is competition for food and land. In nature I have also seen a cat and small dog attacked by a bobcat BECAUSE Of nature and the fight for food/land. That's a part of what makes it so interesting.

Also grooming and excessive grooming in the feline world is also used to show or reaffirm dominance or redirect pent up aggression. Typically the more dominant cats do this to the less aggressive less confident cats. Additionally cats sitting on another cat is another display of dominance. Cats are such interesting creatures but this isn’t as cute and cuddly as you might think.

@@jakinthebox1 I mean, kinda. Dogs are similar in that way, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be dominant and affectionate all at once. It’s like, dogs when they’re submissive to their owners, even though we are technically displaying our dominance in that moment, typically we’re also rubbing their bellies and petting them while doing so. We’re displaying dominance nonetheless since the dog is laid out flat on its back with its tummy facing upwards for us (a submissive position for a dog to be in), but that doesn’t take away from our display of affection. I hope that made enough sense lol, sorry for any lack of coherence

I saw a lioness "mother" a lost baby wildebeast. She seemed alarmed as well obviously wondering where it's mama was. Then a male lion came & killed n ate the baby. The female was so angry that she attacked the male.

A wild Bobcat killed my beloved orange kitty years ago.. a powerful swipe with its paw delivered fatal internal injuries. It happened right in front of me and it has been hard to feel kindly towards Bobcats ever since. I know wild animals need to eat, but the image left in my mind from the encounter left me feeling somewhat fearful of Bobcats. Now years later it is absolutely wonderful to see these two in such a peaceful and loving embrace. It helps me to see that Bobcats can be gentle and loving towards house cats under different circumstances. Thank you for posting this... it is very healing to hold this image instead.

@@melissag.3812 well the difference is, bobcats hunted his cat to survive the harsh world of nature, pitbulls attack humans out of unneeded aggression. My mom was almost killed by a german shepard pitbull mix, the dog was well taken care of, it had never had issues before (it was our neighbors dog), and wasn't in a situation it should have felt threatened (my mom stood up and walked a little bit while it was across the small grass field behind our old apartment). The only reason she got away with only needing antibiotics and bandages was that the chain leash it was on was just short enough to keep it from being fully able to knock her over and ripping her arm off.

I knew a guy who took in a stray bobcat kitten that had lost its mother during a tornado in NC. I know it's a terrible idea to try to keep wild animals as house pets, but I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the sweetest cats I've ever met. Tongue was like 30 grit sandpaper though when he would lick you.

Actually, Mainecoons are a result of domestic cats crossbreeding with smaller wild cats such as the lyinx and the bobcat. These cats are genetically compatible and if they are opposite sexes and both unfixed, the could have a healthy litter

@Apostate dawah many times when referring to the genus Felidae (cheetahs, servals, lynxes, cougars, etc) as opposed to Panthera (lions, tigers, and leopards) these cats are called small cats as a layman's term. Pretty much any cat that roars is a big cat, cheetahs and mountain lions can still meow as mature adults and are not considered big cats

I found a bobcat kitten stranded in an instense rain storm as a child and took him in. Had no idea what I was getting myself into. He was the most grateful, precious, loveable, terrible, mischievous big oaf I ever knew and I miss him dearly. Sadly he was impossible to keep inside the house, as the wild called to him, and lived just as much outside as he did inside. One day when I was around 10 years old my beautiful big boy was struck by a vehicle right in front of me and tragically passed away. They did not stop the truck, leading me to believe it was intentional. Like seriously he was huge, there was no way they didn't notice, it would have been like hitting a medium sized dog. The worst part of it was going to tell my neighbors who my bobcat had forced (through aggressive friendship) to become his second family. They were just as devastated as I was and we cried together for the better part of an hour... RIP Paris, you big dumb loveable meat head. I know the local crows may have celebrated your passing but I miss you every day and even now after 20 years I often think of our time together, the lessons you taught me about respecting nature and how even the most misunderstood wildlife is capable of intense love and bonding. Gone but not forgotten, If there's an animal heaven I know you're up there terrorizing the birds. Love you bug guy

Still in awe of how similar cats are species to species. This one grooms the housecat exactly like a housecat would groom. Identical. And I've seen lions do it as well. It's like cats all have the same software and it's only the bodies that differ. It's amazing.

You should start asking the supposedly "cat expert" what does it mean when a cat does this? what does it mean when a cat eats this, what does it mean when a cat acts this way. Start firing questions at them or make up some shit about cats and get them to believe it because they would believe it being a "Cat expert" and all. 😂

I had a bobcat as a kid. His mother had her babies under our house and one of them decided to stay. He would hug me and push his face against my chest or back while I was sleeping. His name was Bobby Kitty. He may have been wild, but he was a gentle being with us.

@@iamsusankate 12-15 years. I say that because even though he was as normal as a housecat for years and years, we let him come and go as he pleased. We lived in Cleveland National Forest. It was a bobcat "neighborhood." In the beginning, he rarely left. He was a baby when I was a baby. He wanted to be close to us all the time. In his last few years, he would wander a bit more and be gone for a little longer. Probably exploring and adventuring as bobcats do. It was illegal to hunt them in our area, so we felt relatively safe letting him roam and live his life. Eventually he simply didn't return. That might seem harsh, and we would never have done the same with an indoor housecat, but we trusted him to choose for himself. He was never aggressive toward us. Just a totally sweet boy. I'll always remember how soft his fur was and how he loved tummy scratches, how he would nap with me while I read a book. His purr which was bigger than a small cat purr. The coolest guy.

And I really don't know how long he ultimately lived, but I know by wild bobcat standards he lived a long life. If we had kept him in the house exclusively, he might have lived to 25, some bobcats do, but he wanted to roam. We never tried to domesticate him beyond what he wanted from us. We wanted him to be able to fend for himself. I think he was content.

Gotta love how the cat was like mildly annoyed at first like "really, we're doing this?" Then he settles in and he's like "ahh yeah get behind that ear real good"

Because of my wife . I went form disliking cats . To absolutely loving them. Unfortunately my wife died a few months ago she was 36 ..I do everything I can to take care of her cat that she left behind. A few days ago I took a picture of. MY WIFES Cat ( little bit ) staring at a picture of her.. it about broke my heart. He misses her , just like I do ..

I hope you find comfort in knowing there's a stranger that feels your pain and at the same time honors both the love you got too share with another. I used feel awkward sharing God's love. When I'd want to repeat " The Lord is my Shepard. I shall not want..." I feared my misunderstanding of "I shall not want."too mean I have no need of his shepherding when now years later i know now means I have nothing more I need than His grace. That God doesn't serve me, I require nothing but my love of Jesus Christ to be fulfilled. That love you shared is God's grace, you know the living God through her. I hope you have all the gifts and grace your life can give. I sincerely mean that.

This only serves to further my belief that all cats run the same software, just have different sized hardware. If you took a housecat and sized him up to lion size, he’d act like a lion.
