    Another trick, when fitting bigger oil seals. Fill the gap where the spring is with petroleum jelly, and it will stop spring from jumping out.

    These videos are solid gold! Even the candid video parts will save someone a lot of headaches because it shows the how the thinking process needs to be. Like the table part layout. So glad there isn't Charles Manson Music blaring in the background so I can hear what you guys are saying. This shows the level of skills, experience, tools one would need to be able to do this properly. I know I have asked before, but approximate hours on machine or motor when things like this need to happen would be immensely helpful. Would also be helpful to know what like of business the machine was primarily in: Forestry Mulcher / Snow Pusher / Site Prep / Landscape. It's nice to know if it was a premature failure based on your experience as well. Fair cost on the rebuild would be nice to know as well.

    Thanks for the questions, this machine has about 3000 hours on it. Landscaping was the primary business for the owner. This engine spun a bearing and broke a connecting rod on one cylinder and melted a piston on another cylinder. I had to replace one liner and bore other cylinders over .5 mm. I also had to replace the crankshaft. The total for all parts, fluids, and machine work will probably be around $3000 not including labor. Failure was probable due to a bad injector which melted one piston then it started consuming lots of oil then probably ran out of oil which spun bearing and broke connection rod.

    @martincassidy48392 ай бұрын

    When measuring piston ring gap, it is better to put a piston ring on the piston. So when you put the piston in the bore, the piston will sit on the ring, making sure your ring is straight in the piston bore, giving you a perfect measuring

    Thanks a million- this is an awesome video! I have owned a diesel for 10 years and do my own maintenance and had a general idea of how a diesel works with camshafts/timing but this made it so much clearer to me. I am getting a boat soon with two Beta 50 engines (this same Kubota V2203 block I believe) so this is helpful. This may be a dumb question but (anyone) if I want to slowly manually turn the engine, eg to make sure not seized, with the engine installed in a tractor or boat in my case, how do I grab onto that spline on the front of the crankshaft to turn it? I see some other engines have a nut you can put a socket on but I don’t know how to do it with this Kubota V2203.

    Hey so I have a engine that what I was told broke a rode and made hole on the block and telling me the material the block is made of something you can’t weld on and had to replace the whole engine I wanted to know if it was true and if I should rebuild it or buy new it’s from a older skid steer

    Anything metal can be welded with a skilled welder, but it’s not a good idea to fix a broken block. It’s expensive to rebuild and the shop can’t guarantee their weld since the block could have internal stress cracks in it that you can’t see. That’s a lot of money down the drain if it cracks again and you’ll blame the shop for it. That’s why they didn’t do it.

  • @tetradgroup

    @tetradgroup

    The kits with sleeves come with standard standard pistons. I ordered a kit with .5 mm over pistons. I had to sleeve one bore and then bored all cylinders to .5 mm over. This option was more cost effective for me due to the cost of installing the sleeves.

    I would like to talk about newer style 510 560 590. I'm not to impressed with the hand controls. The old style with hands and feet seemed more responsive,even with all the speeds turned up. You don't get full forward drive speed right away...it takes a few seconds. We load bales of cardboard not dirt or stone. Sometimes you need full forward drive for a split,older machines you could that. New machines not so much. Am I missing some setting or is that the way the new machine are now?
