I was at the Gary Lew Wallace match Hennan mentioned. Isle seat, slapped Bruiser on the back when he was going to the ring. It was hard as a rock!

Bruiser was a great football player, played for the Green bay Packers in the 1950's,I even heard him in an interview talking about how in those days there were no face masks on the helmets, and that he didn't understand how some of the other players had a low pain tolerance complaining about getting broken noses, black eyes and losing teeth, but those types of injuries didn't seem to bother him though lol.

Bruiser was an average pro football player from 1951-1955. Someone stepped on his throat to give him his unusual sounding voice.

The AWA at this time and earlier was really great with the Vachon’s , Bruiser and Crusher, closer to their primes. Also Bill Watts in his prime. Bockwinkle and Stevens , Superstar Billy Graham, The Outlaws (Murdoch and Rhodes), The BlackJacks Mulligan and Lanza, the tag team of Harley Race and Larry Hennig, Wilbur Snyder in his prime. The NWA was so spread out their talent didn’t appear on the same card often. You had different territories in the NEA and the talent was great but was so dispersed. Most of the AWA talent appeared on each card.

Jimmy Hart was just as good if not better than Bobby Heenan in Memphis, circa 1970's - early 1980's.
