I just adore his laugh,Bobby was such a real down to earth humble man. LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM. He NEVER FORGOT where he came from. They don't have stars like him,Sammy,George and many more like back then. Thank You Bobby for all your enjoyable entertainment your hard VERY HARD work paid off.You made it to the top but kept your self humble knowing that you were blessed and this doesn't happen to everyone. I would also like to thank Dodd Darin for a awesome book you wrote about your father and your mother thanks so much .And Dodd thanks for your love to them and keeping it real You see and feel it through out your wonderful book. You look so much like him and I see that humble man inside you. Anyone who has never read Dodd Darins book needs to read it, A GREAT Author.

I saw George Burns and Bobby do that very sand dance at the Sahara Hotel, 1959! I was 15 at the time. It was my first 'concert' and totally in love with Bobby! Never will forget being that starry-eyed teenager and watching my idol! He was so handsome and boy, could he sing!

Bobby didn’t know the truth at that time. When his mom/sis told him in 1968, he was shattered. Had next to nothing to do with her from then on.

Did anyone else notice how real these big-name entertainers were back then? I'm aware it's in black-and-white, but I didn't see any porcelain white teeth amongst these very prominent entertainers. Old footage like this should be renamed 'Reality T.V' as this is when the entertainment industry was for real, unlike today's 'reality tv'.

was just a kid when this talented young man was popular..but loved all of his music...thought he was pretty cute when I grew up. Thanks for this post...I had the same heart problem that he did that requires antibiotics prior to dental work. Such a shame that that is what solicited the loss of this great talent. Thanks for the post

wow a young Don Kirshner, he used to produce live concerts in the NY metro area 70''s/80's and of course the early 70's TV show Don Kirshner's rock concert. Think he lived in Cedar Grove, NJ back then.

Now Burns and Darren would have been a great follow up series to Burns and Allen after Gracie retired. (Ronnie Burms might have been a little jealous.) I felt their chemistry. Don Kirshner - the man the Monkees hated.

Sammy is one of the few people along with George Burns who did not pander to him. Both put him in his place when he got cocky and arrogant.Thats why he loved and respected them.

I been reading Roman Candle biography about Bobby and I think the woman mentioned that he had an affair with when he was 18 years old, was crazy and suicidal and would tell Bobby that if he left her she would kill herself, when he did get out of that emotionally draining relationship he was a basket case & the woman did eventually overdose on pills the year this show is taking place 1959!
