Caldwell returned to the studio for two days and wrote "What You Won't Do for Love". TK was mainly an R&B label popular among African American listeners. Executives at the label wanted to conceal that Caldwell was white, so they kept his face off the album cover. When he toured with Natalie Cole to support the album, most of the audience was black and most were surprised that he turned out to be white.[2][3]

This is smooth R and B. He has the best delivery and lyrics. This song hits to the core.

This is a great song. I am from Miami and went to see Bobby Caldwell live in Miami Beach when this album first came out. He had the greatest band-Joe Galdo on drums, Witt Sidner on Saxophone, Alfons Kettener on guitar and many more amazing musicians. I was blown away by the great musicianship and Bobby Caldwell played great lead guitar as well as singing like you hear and even better live. I am so glad that such a talented artist has been recognized and made a great living writing great songs. Today, he's reinvented himself and is just as great today as he was back in the day.
