His showmanship is CRAZY!
Fun fact - Rosie Perez (actress who was a presenter on The View) choreographed his early dance routines. She was still in school but got talent spotted dancing in a club and invited to dance on Soul Train. She then got talent spotted on Soul Train just before Bobby released his first solo album, and got asked to choreograph Bobby's first solo album. Bobby credits himself with teaching Michael Jackson his iconic dance moves - but Bobby got his dance routines from Rosie.
I really love these clips of Bobby Brown .... Glad that they were recorded ... He was phenomenal.... B.B. 💕🙏🏾

It was a big deal to stay up and watch award shows! The acts were amazing, like "here's a free concert for you!" - something you couldn't see anywhere else, esp as a young kid who couldn't go to actual shows or just get online. Now I can stream about anything, anywhere so when I realized they just had another VMA, I couldn't believe they're still trying to do that 😂 I love new music, but no one can create this particular kind of energy on a tv "event" in this era. The closest thing I can think of in recent years (for me, and I'm unashamed) was waiting up to live stream Beychella lol
That man was out dancing his own dancers, no lip sync-Straight Mic Vocals!!! Killing da Game!!🙌🏾👊🏾

a lot can be said about him but "he can't sing/dance" is NOT one of them. dude was an ARTIST. killing it in every possible way. singing. dancing. working the crowd. stage presence. just top notch.

Bobby's cardio was undefeated back in the day 🏃🏾♂️💨

With? Whitney had a lifelong girlfriend. Bobby was a beard
Met Bobby during this era in Chicago after his appearance at a popular spot called Seagulls(sp). He was a complete gentleman, dressed impeccably , hair shiny and laid . He had and needed a huge security detail to get out of the building.
His voice was so lovely
That's how it was done back in the day..Pure talent❤
Bobby was that dude 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is the night he met Whitney!
Bobby brown voice is amazing🔥🔥
Bobby B. Will Always Be My Boy! King Of Stage Forever...
He was high energy and had moves that he made look easy! I always liked him and New Edition back in my youth. He is so entertaining and I enjoy interviews and documentaries about him.
Will always love Bobby!! ❤❤❤❤

Legendary ❤
His drip here got Whitney 😂
He had the moves! Always was 100 back then
Keep dancing ❤
I just remembered Bobby Browns hairdo. That cut was phenomenal!
Bobby made those stiff necks wake up, one of the best performances at the soul train awards ever, iconic.
I’m glad Bobby got to experience the solo success he did even if it was for a few years bc his peak was MASSIVE! In 1989 he outsold every other popular artist at the time with Don’t Be Cruel. Performance wise Bobby had James Brown/Michael Jackson type of stage presence. And he was arguably just as good of a dancer in his peak. He wasn’t traditionally a godlike singer like a Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, El Debarge, or Johnny Gill but he carried his own vocally in his songs. Bobby shined on stage that’s why he’s known as the KING OF STAGE! He also was one of the first popular r&b artists that consistently rapped in his songs. Him and Teddy Riley were the main pioneers of the New Jack Swing sound that dominated r&b/pop music from the late 80s to early 90s.
Main man was dancing nd tryna sing that's dope asf
Love tht Bobby brown style
People just don’t know about these times. Good times
I remember this. My goodness he had swag back then.
Raw how we catches on with his dancers man Bobby was a killa 🙌🏽

Damn Bobby! KING of the stage.
When I go back and look at his videos, I am in awe of just how talented this young man really was. He wasn’t on top as long as he probably could have been, but wow-what a ride!
classic the dancing back then was so dope
During the 3 or so years of the don't be cruel reign couldn't nobody touch bb,he was the king 👑
That gold called youth, you would never know he could move like that now
Cant wait, haven't seen this since I was a kid!!
Whitney once said in an interview that she was impressed by Bobby this night, as he was the only artist who came on the stage and didn't lipsync. From this night they dafed for 3 years before getting married . Her friend said Bobby had asked her to marry him at least three timrs before they became engaged, but she kept refusing saying she wasn't interested in getting married to anyone at that time. Eventually in 1991 he proposed again in the car on the way back from the airport "are you going to marry me or not" and she said yes. 14 years married, 17 years together, one child and 4 miscarriages (plus a baby with his old girlfriend whilst they were together... r.i.p Bobby Jr). Ups and downs occurred but they loved eachother deeply. Right love, possibly the wrong time...
"Yo. We outta here."
Bobby did that
2:59 I call that the Bobby B
01/15/23: I'm currently reading Bobby's autobiography, and I'm reading the part about when he first met Whitney - before he performed in this video. He said Whitney had her friend grab the robe he flung off and asked if she could keep it. He said that she could cuz he didn't think he'd wear that suit again. I'm only on page 122, and it is such a good and revealing book so far!!!!!
Can't be easy dancing in a bathrobe. He makes it look easy.
Bobby Brown was great then and now he's the best!! He and Whitney Houston will live in paradise forever. May God continue blessings them and family!! Ms. Yolanda Barrett
Finally a some what high quality version of this performance.
I love his music. Now question is can he still dance like this?
Bobby Brown you were the truth!! Skipping on half of foot you better dance
