    I am an American and I REFUSE to live in fear. Drumpf does not scare me. We all have to get tough and stand up to Drumpf and his goons in 2020 and show them all who is boss. We are. By the way Bill, Drumpf will leave. If he loses and he refuses to leave, they'll carry his ass out!

    I wouldn't count on it. Whenever i confront Trumpsters on issues they always point to someone else as having done the same thing in the past while ignoring that they are not president NOW and times might have been different then. If Trump makes it to 2024 they will point to FDR who served 3 terms. If they can't make that bs stick he will declare some sort of national emergency.

    Zach The Celtics Guy if you’re not afraid of a wanna-be dictator who is the commander in chief, you’re a fool. Don’t give us this crap about “I’m so tough I’m not afraid and it won’t happen”. Before every dictatorship in history, everyone thought “it can’t happen”. It’s a human flaw, we’re too optimistic so underestimate the possibility of bad things happening. For example, who’s “they”? “They will carry his ass out”? Who? The supreme court? Conservatives control that. The justice department? He control that. The military? He controls that. There is no “they”. The system won’t protect itself if everyone else is ‘in’ on it.

    Leanne I’m with you. Yes the US has been too quick not to notice they are being evil, when it comes to getting the power and influence for US interest. Trump is dangerous because we have already seen, dullards and even smarter people see him as an end to a means. Nobody can tame him apparently, if mueller can’t get him we are truly screwed. Bill is right he might hang on or at least do a transfer of power like a monarch, to one of his kids. I’ve seen video of trump in the 1990’s he’s a billionaire but fairly sane, the process of his thoughts are clearer. People do forget his age, he could have a form of dementia. 2020 needs to start campaign now, he is already ( actual first Trump 20/20 was at a rally a few months into 2016). The dems need to get their house in order. Beto O’Rourke might just be a good choice.

    Many of us knew it would get this bad with Trump. None of this behavior of his is new since the 2016 election. That's why Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and would probably have won the electoral college if it weren't for gerrymandering. We looked at our choices and when we saw that there were no good ones available, we held our noses and voted for Hillary Clinton because at least she wasn't Donald Trump.

    As a Brit I can only say that any electoral system that allows anyone who has not served in a public office to come along and be elected as president needs overhauling. Some of those revelations about Trump's lack of knowledge are unbelievable. Those of us who are allies must be praying he is gone by 2020.

  • @MicheleEngel

    @MicheleEngel

    5 жыл бұрын

    Bill Martin - I hadn't thought of that. Great idea. The electoral college is unnecessary (and useless, as we now see) if the vetting takes place as a pre-qualifier to running in the first place. Release of taxes (previous 3 - 5 years) should be required as well as history of public service. I think at least one term as Mayor or Governor (to show administrative qualifications) and/or serving at least one term as either Senator or member of the House (to show ability to actually get things done as part of the political process). Also, putting all ownership of private business assets in a blind trust should be required once major party nomination has been established.

    The most concerning part of this is that this guy, with his 40+ years of experience sees this period as an anomaly. Rather than the continuation of a politik and a power structure that has been in accendance since the end of the 70s. Trump isn't new, or different. He just doesn't bother to dress it up.

    The one thing I disliked about this video was that Bill kept doing his Trump impression and cracking jokes. I wouldn't have a problem with this if he wouldn't have interrupted Bob Woodward so he could get a laugh from the audience. Bob Woodward should have been interviewed in a serious manner because he is such an intelligent person. I would have loved to hear a laugh free interview between these two.

    7:40 "They actually masquerade as ideas, but they really are views" Saying that President Trump has views is not very accurate either. Asking a malignant narcissist for his/her views on a subject is a bit like asking a three-year old for his/her views on a subject: It is as if the malignant narcissist lacked the emotional maturity needed to hold views on anything. But just as the three-year old might pretend to be an adult, so the narcissist will constantly play-act and thereby hide the embarrassing fact that he/she is emotionally at the level of a three-year old. The play-acting will often work to the point that the narcissist successfully comes across as a highly special person with countless admirable qualities (which is the kind of idea that the narcissist likes to entertain about himself/herself and is seeking constant confirmation of). The fact that it is just play-acting can be seen in many ways, though, if you are only observing the narcissist carefully enough for a sufficiently long time. For example, a look at Donald Trump's Twitter feed will reveal rather well how little of an intellectual he actually is.

    I don't agree when I hear people say Trump is "gambling" with our democracy. This assumes he is weighing the pros and cons of his actions. He doesn't give a sh*t about the democracy and the office of the presidency. It's only about looking like a winner. And his concept of winning means someone else must be a loser. The president should be finding win-win solutions. Trump has never shown the ability to find these solutions. Please maintain the energy and keep organizing and keep voting to get this country back on track.
