That’s Alto Reed on sax. He passed about a year and a half ago. He was with Seger from the beginning.
Yes!! Show Bob some love! Give him his flowers while he's still here! Peace!
Bob is one of the greats!!! ❤😊
Many people don't know that Bob Seger did a version of "The Little Drummer Boy ", it's without a doubt it's the best version I've ever heard

Back in 72 by Bob Seger Detroit Grit 🇺🇸☕
Another artist whose LIVE show/albums are 100x better than the studio albums!
I always here a small hint of Little Richard in his voice at times. Night Moves is my favorite of Bob Seger.
Finally getting into some old Bob!
Just one example of how diversified Bob can be. Between the rockin' and rollin' of this and "Old Time Rock & Roll" to "Turn the Page".
Keep on hitting him(them) ! so much more to hear . you should - could - do a track by track of his Live Bullet album . trust your subscribers when we say you won't be disappointed !

It's so true - Live Bullet is the best!!
Gotta love Uncle Bob ✌️
The instrumentation on this recording was by the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, The Silver Bullet Band was mostly a touring band. Bob would write songs, go down to Alabama to record an album and then go out on the road with his band. This is a very good Bob Seger song, probably just outside my top10. Check out Black Knight from the same album.
Seger is always a good time 🤩
Bob wrote and recorded this in 1975 after gigging almost 300 nights per year out of beat up station wagons and vans - He had a huge regional fan base, but hadn't made a breakthrough to national airplay - That's why he included the lyrics "if I ever get outta here...." and "no one here loves me anyway..." - He made it big in '76 with his album Live Bullet followed closely by Night Moves, then Stranger in Town - He did go to Kathmandu as a spokesman for Special Olympics in 1991 kzread.info/dash/bejne/a6iuvNCOiamyerA.html
One of my faves from Bob.
Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. If you've ever seen Eddie Murphy's movie The Golden Child, that's where they went to get the sacred knife. "I - I - I want the knife". I rate this song as Bob Seger good. It is the same rating I give all of his songs!

This song is definitely in my top 10 Bob Seger songs. Probably around number 7.
Uncle Bob was a staple on my turn table ! “70’s” Live versions slap just a little bit more (Live Bullet) 😊 Great reaction Biz 🔥
He had so much fun doing this one! At least it seems that way.
Thanks Biz one of my personal favorites.
I agree with you 100%, every good Rocking song like that needs a banging piano in it. I love it.
This song was my introduction to him, so it's top ten for sure. A couple to hit are Brave Strangers and Ship Of Fools. Uncle Bob vocals cover lots of styles... 😎😎

His double LIVE BULLET album has got to be one of the top 5 LIVE rock & roll albums of all time! I wore out so many 8-track & cassette copies of it in my vehicles!
Hell yeah. Enjoy this classic gem.
Ol Bob sure loved to rock! What a discography....
Cool! Live Bullet is the way go.
Ramblin' gamblin' man
Bob Seger is a REAL deep rabbit hole. Be sure to put “Betty Lou’s Getting Out Tonight” on the to do list!
Yep, it's a real place. It's the capital of Nepal. Love me sum Bob Seger! I once had all of his albums. Beautiful Loser is probly my fave by him but it's damn hard to choose. Katmandu is a top fave too
Another great tune Biz. If you like a real rockin' banger give Bob's song GET OUT OF DENVER a listen. Thanks for all the great tunes, as always you're the best, coolest, and smoothest out there.
Great to be Free! Go Bob Seger Detroit Grit 🇺🇸☕
Seger is the king
Yep thats Katmandu
Biz, do yourself a favor, and listen to this in Seger’s Live Bullet album. He is awesome. Yes, it’s a real place.
Makes me think of the amazing movie Mask.

No one reacts to that movie. And it’s so good.
If you are still not grooving after hearing this, then you are dead, you are no more, el gonzo.
Katmandu ,Nepal, yes a damn long way from home .
SHIP OF FOOLS
Please Biz you GOTTA dive into the album "Live Bullet." As always... spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸
I used to do a lot of kareoke when I was younger and Seger was one of my favs to mimic (Seger, Cocker, Bon Scott, ect.) This song is very hard to sing the higher notes. They are literally squeezed out.
I rocking Bizman!😊But his stuff better live, (if ya can).
GOOD ONE BIZ, GOOD ONE!!! Yep, it’s a real place.
I remember this song from the movie Mask with Cher and Sam Elliot great movie great song thank you Biz
Roll Me Away bout my fav Seger song ✌💞
Katmandu is in the Himalaya mountains and is the base for everyone who wants to climb mount Everest it's also rumor to be the mythical city of Shangri-la
You can hear Bob's, Chuck Berry influence in this song the best.
MAINSTREET
Gotta love Seger. He's still tours every now and again, if you see his playing around you, you gotta go to a show. A must see group Dead and Company

@@itzel1735 he's been saying that for years but always comes back around
The great Bob Seger. I've mentioned previously that I saw him before he was a big star, opening for Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band in NYC '74, the theater half-filled when Bob did his great set. I'd love to hear "Rosalie".
Think it's open for interpretation but I first encountered this when I was in high school and I bought several of his albums and like a lot of his stuff and it was on the radio all the time. But whenever I Revisited when I get older, it always resonates with me even more, especially the serious stuff. But Katmandu is actually a real place, and it's way up in the mountains in Asia and there is a certain Mystique to it. But here's where the interpretations may vary but I've always just seen it as a working-class song, this is one of those songs that you would love to dance to in a bar to them playing it live. But on the other hand, it was on every jukebox and every bar for so long or not for so long like some of his other stuff but for awhile. He's got a couple equivalent simple bangers like that like, Betty Lou's going out tonight. And of course take those old records off the shelf and play that rock-and-roll song which got so overplayed. I think he knows he's never going to make it over to catmandoo because that would cost tens of thousands of dollars to really go into it in the end and stay for awhile. But he just means that in his mind he wants to let loose and just go someplace way different than everyday life. It's a perfect song for a Friday night
This song is all action and high energy. Bet he can't sing it in this key anymore, haha! Great song.
Bob Seger Rocks!.... but.... yo Biz try "SHAME ON THE MOON" TRUST NEAJ
Biz you need to listen to the live version from Live Bullet, this song, Turn the Page and Nutbush City Limits are so much better and different live than studio.
nothing can stop you to be in KATHMANDU NEPAL
Part of the country dug “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen, I personally enjoy Bob more. He’s music just spoke to me more.
Katmandu is in Nepal
This song could get ya a speeding ticket if you didn’t pay attention. A great fun song that gets you going. Thanks.
Yes it’s the capital of the country Nepal...
Next time you are going on a long drive, put on Silver Bullet Live album. You talk about groovin and cruisin nothing beats it.

Live version soooooo much better. Live bullet
I like this song but it does not make my top 10 of Bob Seeger songs. To me it is a basic rock song that on my first listen way back then, I discounted a bit as being a mix of Rock and Roll Music (Beach Boys) and California Girls (Beach Boys), musically and lyrically. Sunspot Baby was way better imo. Pure hard driving Bob Seger, totally original. Her Strut and Fire Down Below rank up there too. Kathmandu is one of those romantic sounding faraway places where poppies grow. Marrakech Express and Shambala etc.are songs in the same vein, Lyrically, Something Fine by Jackson Browne might be the best one of these songs although it is not a rocker.
