One of my favorite Bob Ross paintings is at, like 3 or 4 minutes into an episode (i forget which now). It looks like a tropical island floating in a hazy sea surrounded by brilliant sunshine. Of course, he turned it into a mountain with a lake but I would've bought the 4 minute painting :D

I’ve noticed that Bob always has some form of death in his paintings, weather it be a simple dead tree, or a story of a dead hunter who died with only a cabin remaining. I think that he has realized that we associate so much negativity with death, when it’s just something that happens.

When i first started watching Bob Ross they really intrigued me as to the how he executes such a dreamy & calming paintings in only 30mins; when i would spend hours & days doing similar things. No wonder he created over 30,000 pieces in his lifetime. These first episodes are new to me & it's great to see these early episodes. The music is ok but his techniques got better by zooming on the palette in later episodes to show how much & what colour mixes he is using for the viewer to see, plus having a laugh every time he slaps his brush on the easel.

Also, I used to watch another awesome painter, and although he had a jolly - fun way about him, he was the total opposite of Bob. William Alexander is his name, and HIS motto was loud and clear when he would say..."ve vant a big mountaine right here, so fire in there...fire in there!!" Omg he was hilarious and fun to watch because like Bob, William produced beautiful paintings👍🏻❣🌺🤗✨👌🏻

These very early shows have this crazy music...serious 80s vibe...his shows later on have no music at all and his voice becomes a calming whisper...those are the really special ones.

Me three. I hadn't googled yet to discover when the music left. Great to know I only have to finish Season 1 before the music goes. I'm trying to watch in order from the beginning. The music has been very jarring.

I know this comment is 2 years late, but I really gotta point out that those 28 minutes took him 41 years to achieve. Bob Ross was born in 1942. This episode aired in 1983. When he recorded this, he had decades more practice. Hell, when he recorded it, he was twice the age I am now! It takes a long long time to get to that point. Please don't beat yourself up. Art is a journey. You'll only get better with time. I believe in you.

He seems to have painted better in the first two or three seasons that the remaining 28 seasons or so. Mind, he did paint the occasional work that was quite stunning. The first two or three seasons I feel had more life in them.
