I wish that were true. Bob and crew were so talented, dedicated & fantastic. My favorite show. But there are very disturbing people that have horrible, horrendous, comments, that come into our community and spew their lack of respect for the community, and them selves. Blessings to the community, and to Bob Ross and Crew.

Don’t mean to burst any bubbles here but that bit of wisdom came from Bob’s teacher, William Alexander, as did virtually everything Bob said or did on his show. Bob was simply a better salesman.

  • @dreamingdarkrai9010

@@rayray8687 we know that he made a show similar to his teacher. He gives credit to his teacher. But it's not about who did it first, its about sending the lessons into time. The goal of both is to teach. If your teacher taught you something, but then you use it, does that make you unwise? No, of course not.

  • @rayray8687

dreaming darkrai: Fact is neither of them did it first. Alla prima painting style had been around for at least 300 years before either Bob or Bill was born and is arguably best known today in the paintings of Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh in the late 1800s to early 1900s - but, of course, those guys didn’t have a television studio to work from. Both Bill and then Bob developed multi-million dollar businesses selling art supplies, books and recordings using teaching as their vehicle, not their goal. The goal of every professional artist and every television production is to make money. Anyway, if I had to choose the better and more original artist, it’s William Alexander. The better salesman, Bob Ross.

I am " hypnotized" by the sound of Bob's knife ( which isn't actually a " knife"; not like the knives I see on TV News that are used to commit Violent crimes!). I actually stop " blinking" with that sound! Michael McClary, 4/5/2021.
