I honestly don't think Bob realized how hilarious he could be. This isn't the only painting he did featuring a cabin. And not the only one either where Bob imagined the cabin was uninhabited because the owner had some unfortunate freak accident like drinking too much and falling into a lake and drowning. Or having a tree fall on top of him, or freezing to death because he didn't have any electricity LMFAO 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I love that in this episode, near the beginning, he explains why he believes the Wet-on-Wet Technique works better, along with it's benefits. I had always wondered why he favors that particular technique, I appreciate when people explain their craft. Bob Ross is just plain awesome. He was ASMR before that was even thing. When I have a panic/anxiety attack, I put him on with my headphones and just meditate to his voice and the soft sounds/background noises...and I feel better within 15-20 minutes. I have a t-shirt with that, I wore it on my drivers test.

I skipped to the end to see the finished product and ended up on the moment he said "cabinectomy" ( 21:58 ). Perfect. XD

This man is a genius.

As soon as he puts in the mountain highlights, it all starts to come together.

When he related x's all over the place with when his teacher would grade his papers 😂😂😂👌🏻

What amazes me is just how incredibly fast he is painting in these episodes. I have 'painted along' with him and it takes me at least 2 to 3 hours to complete the painting. You really can tell just how quickly he is moving in the episodes where he paints the painting that they use for the opening of the show. The one used in the title sequence has far more detail and nuance than the one he paints during the show.

Bob Ross's skill at painting it's like he was our modern day Picaso. Except Picado wasn't that good.

Bob helps so much with my depression. Makes me think of happy little places and happy little things and instantly boosts my mood and relaxes me. I keep watching his videos every night before bed. Thank you Bob ❤️ you’ve done more with these series than just taught people to draw 🌼

I could watch him paint all day.

His mountain paintings are always my favorite. I wish there was a planet in which all his paintings were real places or he painted the entire planet. Imagine what a beautiful world that would be.

I had a 'Bob Ross"-like workshop last Saturday and I made my own painting (similar to this one but very small). I never touched a brush of oil paint before. Fabulous! And with so many Happy Accidents :) I used to watch these Bob Ross video's for relaxation, now I might buy all the equipment and start painting!

Bob Ross is a star, very detailed in teaching while painting. Beautiful paintings!! Love it much. Bless

Ok so I didn't have any of this equipment but I wanted to paint so bad after watching these videos every evening. Then I decided to download GIMP and I did and I went there trying to use the tips Bob Ross gave me and I could paint some cool scene! It doesn't matter what you paint with, everyone can paint. believe

This is exactly how I started digital painting too! I chose an episode and followed along for a while, and then totally went into another direction. It was so much fun. Been painting since then. Tried oils in real life too, but it's expensive, so that has to wait :)

For those who can't afford to start with oils (I recently got oils bc of Jerry's Artarama's 2/1 sales, "try it" offers (both being $1 and $2 offers),, and their cheap Practica canvases ($1-3 ea depending on size, 2-pack minimum, they do 2-packs or a 20-pack for whatever size, from 3x5 or 4x6-16x20, 12x24's or so, and good variety in between, even square ones), I don't get kickbacks, just saying I like to paint and am not loaded with cash, they're the cheapest deal anywhere if you pick through their site carefully for some items, then get other brushes from anywhere cheap, some flat, angled, filbert, liner and a 2", combo kits are everywhere), trying with acrylics can be cheap and you can learn to adapt it to his style. It's still the fastest cleanup, less scary when it comes to stainIng, bc it rinses right out of soft fabrics if you don't let it dry. I did acrylic first, it worked great, even painting with cheap craft paint on paper and a few tubes of thicker paint is a good start. There are DIY vids to thicken paint (a little chalk or talc, well blended w spatula), slow the drying time (glycerin or retarder), thin it for fine detail, etc. Then you can build up supplies. I love to see people modify what Bob taught us all. He'd be happy you got inspired and found a way to use the ideas in your own way:) That was his whole hope, was for people to do just that. Take the ideas and make it their own.
