It's insane to think this gentle man was a military bully. Bless his loving soul. I believe he started painting while stationed in Alaska to make some money on the side...and painting was probably always his true passion. Turns out his ultimate calling was being an instructor! I first discovered asmr when I was a kid watching Bob Ross. I didn't know what it was and thought I was the only one.

Hes not teaching you how to paint. Hes teaching you how to live life. No mistakes, happy accidents. We can work with our imperfections. Dont stress about what to paint or where to paint it. Just let it happen, let it be, no matter what we can figure it out. In the end, we will have a beautiful painting. Even still, if we dont like it, we can always try again. Thank you Bob

i’m literally crying why am i crying because a loose squirrel keeps coming back to him. THAT IS CUTEEE

I am a brand new oil painter. Never done it before in my life. I followed along as best I could with Bob on my first painting and you guys, I can't believe how easy it was to follow his techniques and actually produce something worth looking at! The man was a genius. He had such a gift for teaching art to the world. I know we all know this, but I'm just very thankful for him.
