I have painted in the Ross "style", following one of his videos....mirroring his composition and palette. I can come to no other conclusion than he is an "art therapist" (people feel better after completeing a painting in 20 minutes), but he was was not an artist. His paintings lack any coherent focus (try to find the "subject") and the choice of colors/value in his palette are garish and the images are clumsy...which is not surprising given he only uses a 2 inch brush. Sorry....not sorry.

01:43 "Christmas brown" is such a wonderful way to put it. With a traditional medium like this, one really has to think about the basics. If you're painting digitally, you just *pick* what color you want. Here, you gotta *mix 'em* first!
This guys is a true American treasure.

It's nice to see Bob paint the introductory painting. I love the fall colors used in the background, in addition to the reflection of the water. Of course the highlight was the little covering of the bridge that looks like a cabin in my eyes. The Rollinghills at the front had a nice gradient of color to them, and overall this looks like a really good for painting. I saw how Bob was behaving during the episode, and I got a sense that he was rather tired. It really made me sad. I hope that he is proud of the people who make happy comments and still watch his videos even decades after he passed. It makes me proud of everybody who watches this. *_Thanks for reading my happy little review~_*

I love these videos. They’re always so calming and relaxing. But I have to also say that I love the comments people post. This is one place where I tend to see tender- hearted people all sharing their love for Bob. These days, videos seem to always attract people who feel the need to comment negatively and tear things down. Not here. Bob makes us all feel happier and brings out the good in us. He’s amazing (present tense, because he lives on in our hearts!) - in so many ways.
Whenever the world seems dark, and hopeless I watch Bob create these amazing paintings, and it always brings a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. Thanks for all the beauty, Mr. Ross.
That old bridge looks like me, It’s about to fall down. We love you Bob!
Each of his strokes with the brush is like a mother running her fingers in your hairs and you fall asleep slowly. Miss you BoB 😢
Last christmas eve I found out that Bob doesn't live anymore. I cried sooo bad and i still cry everytime i see his show (like now lol) because he seems like a really good person RIP
"Today I'm gonna make a big pile of brown" Glad he was talking about paint.
Before Bob was William Alexander. I used to watch him paint on his PBS show. He inspired Bob in the wet-on-wet technique. The rest is history.
I love the way this legendary man down plays his skills. He loves painting and says paint is nothing but happy little accidents. If your honest with yourself life is the same way. Some people get lucky and the accidents make a wonderful life. Some of use have mistakes of the brush.
He probably helps god create happy things on earth.
