"i hated the losing and i wasn't enjoying the winning and you can't do it like that. the scale wasn't balancing for me." goddamn, that was such a great insight and it happens to so many of us when we want to do the things we love at a high level.

This is the perfect sneak peak clip to get ppl excited for full drop. You can tell people really respect JJ, the conversations feel very genuine and not forced at all. I started following when he had Andrew Yang on back in like 2020 or something and even then it was obvious how good he was at podcast. It's probably the second best podcast in terms of total quality from guests to production to topics that I've ever watched. Its behind only JRE and that's saying a lot. Yes, there is leadership. But I think the key thing is just letting your best players be who they are. This ain't the 90s and early 2000s where everybody is all about business. This is a playground game. MJ lead because he was unabashedly himself. Shaq and Kobe won together, until their personalities clashed and they didn't like how each other carried themself. But they won again separately because they could be unabashedly themself. The Spurs big 3 were successful because their Big 3 could be themselves. Lebron was unlocked after losing in the finals against Dallas because, yes, their team was a cheat code. But they had fun in years 2 and 3 for sure. Then come my warriors. Their chemistry was on point because all their players could just be who they want to be. Steph the jovial assassin. Klay the lowkey weird but really cool guy. Draymond, the agitator. Each person unlocked at an individual level and then when on the court, they can be maximized because they just need to think basketball.

The timing he left, as a Warriors fan, I remind everybody to just not take his word for it. He said it's not about "Jumping off the Titanic" as Chuck put it, but it's exactly that. All these "other issues", that he "can't be as fully commted", then guess what, not even 1 year later, he find himself doing the GM job for another team. So really just watch this guy's action, it speaks louder than whatever he has to say.

No one is forcing you to watch this, or the upcoming interview. Not everyone can be everyone's cup of tea. As far as I'm concerned, I think Mr. Myers is an incredible person and a great interviewee. 😊

Why? I'm not a Warriors fan but Myers is a good listen. Provides more interesting insights compared to other espn talking heads. And he is surprisingly good at calling games on tv.
