Bob Marley & The Wailers - Stir It Up (Live at The Old Grey Whistle, 1973)

Музыка

Bob Marley & The Wailers do a live in-studio performance before performing live for @bbcradio2’s Old Grey Whistle Test. They perform "Stir It Up" and "Concrete Jungle" during this set. I am. I was a HUGE fan in my late teens in the 70's of Bob Marley, still am. I had all his albums in vinyl. Lol .Going through a tough, serious illness, and I'm here reminiscing. My soul feels better, lighter, listening to his music. He had such wisdom. It saddens me to see all the divisiveness in the world today. He was truly a force for good. ❤

Just an incredible guitar solo at 2.34 by Peter Tosh, never heard a guitar played like that since and this was 51 years ago in 1973, which was the year my mum was born. Love the vibe. Love the song. Interestingly, that is only mostly true, because today I learned that they are singing to a backingtrack, prerecorded by producer Chris Blackwell, and the wah wah guitar is not Peter or Bob, but a legendary white guitarist from Alabama named Wayne Perkins, who had worked with many great artists. He is on 3 tracks of the Catch a Fire album, and this recording, and he did an amazing job. But yeah, all of The Wailers are gone now sadly :(

Bob Marley is just enough to make my angst vanish with his optimistic and uplifting tunes, not a lot of bands or singers can do that nowadays! Another thing, every instrument is played to perfection from the guitars, bass, bongos, drums, timbales, organ, and the singing it's all wonderful. Plus I love his combination of reggae mixed with some funkyass disco rhythms which only makes it more intimidating to hear.
