I did my research and saw that it's a black director and ziggy and mama Marley were the producers... Take my money! I support this 100 percent! Great review Tony! I really wanted to know how you felt about this and you didn't let me down

As West Indian Jamaican growing up hearing his music going to his concert it was wild the roots rock of Bob is very deep and heart felt by Jamaicans to the point of tears in their eyes when he is talked about! So we hold him close to our hearts and high on a pedestal for his contribution. We love him and his family dearly.

Yeah, I've watched the movie 3 times so far. It's emotionally somber, yet full of hope and faith. Definitely worth the effort and his family wanted to create a yardstick as it were, so from now on everyone knows what Bob Marley was like, and what he stood for.

Tony you are hilarious 😂😂. I Just watched One Love on Paramount+. I enjoyed it overall. ❤ I love and daresay felt vibes of healing listening to Bob’s music over the decades. I have Exodus, Legend and a 4-disc box set with his early music going back to the 60s and yes, I had my own Marley t-shirt in college in the early 90s (a black tee with his silhouette against red, green and gold stripes 😁) so I’m a fan and lover of his music. Yes I agree that Kingsley and Lashana are EXCELLENT 🔥🔥 in this and that Lashana gave an award-worthy performance! And I did peep Rita’s clothes too in this film. Beautiful!! 🔥🔥 I will say tho that Bob & Rita’s relationship was complicated - both had affairs and outside relationships and children (Vanity Fair did a good write up on that) that was quickly alluded to in the film (I knew about Bob’s - including his long-time girlfriend who’s Damian Marley’s mom - but not Rita’s) so this movie, given that the family was involved, didn’t go too deep into those details. It seems the idea was to focus more broadly on this time of Bob’s life and his music vs a deep dive into the man including his warts and flaws, so with that in mind, their dynamic in the film worked the way it was intended it seems. Anyhoo If you want to know *more* about Bob’s life beyond this film definitely check out the 2012 Marley documentary. It was excellent. There’s also the 2011 Making of a Legend documentary and the Rebel Music documentary which came out in 2001. ❤💛💚

I greatly enjoyed the film overall - especially since his widow and children were involved in making it! 🇯🇲 I do feel bad for my associate that said he could only understand about 30% of the film due to their accents/patois. I think the reach of the film would have been greater if they did have captions. I've seen headlines criticizing the film but I didn't bother clicking on them so I would give it 4.25 🎷 out of 5! 🇯🇲🥰

I have no idea why T.B. ( I hold the same initials lol) is not active right now as the top comedian. This man can make anything pure comedy. Comedic genius that I unfortunately only have sample sizes of. I play his sets on my devices and draw laughter from people within earshot, or sometimes even a group of people wanting to watch with me. That says a lot. "Who is that guy, he's hilarious!", we need to change that.

Kingsley Ben-Adir has been out here silently crushing every role he takes on. Been a fan of dude since that Guy Ritchie King Arthur movie with Charlie Hunnam. Lashana Lynch crushes it every time, too. My only gripe with the film is that there is this one scene shown in the trailers that did not make the final cut and it would've added more depth to a pivotal scene with Bob and a certain character played well by Micheal Ward. That dude needs more roles. Between his performances in "Top Boy", this, and another project, he could blow up.

You are spot on my BROTHER ,additionally if I may . The Movie scored in showing what made him LEGEND. What exactly was the cement that held them together . It's the WORK they knew they had to do !!.A mission that far superseded any marriage or male female relationship . Their God given mission to spread the philosophy of RASTAFARI , GLOBALLY . !! Critics wanted more personal gossip about his extramarital affairs etc . Sorry that aspect of his life had NO PLACE in thia account! It was not included and indeed belong on and should be kept on the fringes !! ONE LOVE , ONE AIM, ONE DESTINY !! RASTAFARI LIVE ..YES BOB ,THEY A GO TIRED FI SEE YOUR FACE ! CANT GET YOU OUTTA THE RACE ! LET THEM DRAW DEM BAD CARD !! . To the critics who the point and subtext went straight over their heads , in Bob's words, YES I , THE GOT SO MUCH THINGS TO SAY RIGHT NOW SO MUCH THINGS TO SAY ... SO MUCH ,SO VERY MUCH . BUT . I AND I CAN NEVER BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAWS OF MEN , TRUTH WILL FIND I INNOCENT !! SO MUCH SO MUCH THINGS TO SAY !!

I like the movie for what it was. I would have loved a movie that included more of his life but I now c that they had an idea in mind to just focus on what they wanted to focus on. I too loved the leads. However, as a Jamaican a lot of the accents were distracting. I did have to remind myself not to pick a part the accents and just enjoy the movie. Of course the music was phenomenal, I knew all but one song.

I really liked this movie and I like that they didn't try to cram 36 years of his life in to 2 hours. They didn't even show his death. I thought Ben-Adir and Lynch did a great job, acting was really good, especially Lynch. But her Jamaican accent was spotty at times, and his voice was deep for Marley, which was very noticeable, to me, when they would have the actual Bob Marley's voice playing in live performances. Because Bob Marley sung pretty high, it didn't really match. But that is a small complaint. I also wish they could have got a little deeper in to how he came up with lyrics and what they meant to him, but I guess you can only fit so much in a couple hours. But, I really enjoyed the movie.
