To my delight, this must be the longest TV-monologue Bob ever did. I'm amazed at its length. Very unusual for him to do one as a guest on another celebrity's show. Golly, he really registers on-camera, doesn't he? What's known as stage-presence. Truly, he was one of the most thrilling & pleasure-giving sights in the history of television. Just seeing him standing-there gives one such a joyous-feeling. And aren't his eyes marvelous? The way he uses them---naturally but for effect, too. His eyes in tandem with that wonderful lopsided-smile of his after telling a joke, just magical! I've always admired his poise & confident-delivery. And he's so relaxed with a kind-of sprightly-bounce as he transitions from one joke to the next, smooth-as-silk. Even when he receives a rare, weaker-than-expected reaction from the audience for a particular punchline, he has a "save" at-the-ready, in a quieter tone-of-voice, giving the viewer a momentary-feeling that he's been thrown off-pace and/or is disappointed---he then instantly-springs right-back & goes-on with amazing-celerity, in-control, and with uninterrupted-poise. A wonderful-surprise for me to discover this here. Great audio & color-restoration, also!

I’ve never realized it before, but I’m thinking that Leno fashioned his monologues from Hope. The timing and presence is almost identical at times.

I really have to say his delivery and wit is on par and sharp as ever here. although this is really just the opening monologues of his very very long-running NBC specials that's all.
