Andrew, I have to tell you…I was inspired by your video to seek out this set…my single favourite Bob Dylan “album” …and that’s saying something! I was fired up…and secured the 4 disc vinyl set… superb! But in the back of my mind I couldn’t let go of the thought of that mysterious third disc (and the singles cover collection you outlined on your show)…and lo and behold, in my favourite record store here in Toronto this weekend, a beautiful used copy of the three disc set! I couldn’t believe it! And even though I recently secured the vinyl set, I couldn’t resist the deluxe 3 CD set as well. C$ 300. Just listened to the third CD and loved it! Thx very much. Cheers, JPE

It's a great album! A bit crazy in places but lots of fun.

Its funny, when I was a teen in the early 80s I was in a used vinyl shop in the Village in NYC and someone asked the owner where the bootlegs were. The owner said he used to carry them until Bob Dylan came in one day and screamed at him about how he doesn't name money off bootlegs and they contain material he didn't want released! The owner said that after that, he was too scared to sell them any more haha. You just reminded me of that with your video.

great find, congrats! i had similar luck a year or so ago on discogs with the version of this set that includes the bonus 7". some shelf wear and torn shrink but still sealed with the hype sticker. i know how you must've felt coming away with your copy!

This must have been my first expensive cd box set... Since it contained a lot of bonuses on disc 3 I couldn't pass on it!!! An extra hour of material, including 2 outtakes from "World Gone Wrong"!!! I haven't got many of the recent deluxe ones from his, but I'm very very happy I have this one!!! Enjoy Andrew and keep up the good work!!!

Hi Andrew thoughts on paying €30 for the 2 hardbacks (one is the singles sleeves picture book and the other is the liner notes containing the 3 discs). However there is no slipcase that they should be contained in.

@@markcasserly3992 it's definitely worth £30 and more. Just a case of how annoying it is for you that the cover isn't there, and whether you end up still wanting to pay a whole lot more for another one with the case.

@@AndrewDixonMusic Yeah it's a bit annoying, but I've never seen one for sale in Ireland before so I think I'll definitely purchase it, especially at that price. The only other 2 deluxe editions I have at the moment are The Basement Tapes & Springtime in New York.

I used to have this box set. Got it back when it came out. But I sold it when my wife moved in with me (she needed some room for her stuff, so I compromised: I agreed to sell some of my collection, but I refuse to get rid of any of my Beatles or Star Trek stuff!) LOL 😁

Bought it the day it came out. Held onto it ever since......unlike my stupidest move ever (beside that first marriage) when I sold the Beatles Mono box around 4 years back. Recently re-purchased the Mono box and much like yourself in regard to "Tell Tale", I paid a very good price for it. Cheers Andrew, have a top weekend!

@@AndrewDixonMusic the worst part about the Mono debacle is that the original one I bought, I got brand new from a buddy who owned a record shop. I got it for $300!!!

Good for you Andrew. Timing can be everything. There was an autographed copy of Red Rose Speedway, with certificate, that was priced starting at 1,900 US on Ebay. Out of curiosity to see what the reserve was, I typed in bids in $5 increments til I got to $190 and was "the highest bidder". I left it at that. Surely the bids would blow by that price. Never gave it another thought til two weeks later and "congratulations..." You never know.☮

A shop near me has the box, book, and 7" single for about $25. They also have a copy of the 2 disc set for about $10. Maybe I could cobble together a set...minus that 3rd disc.

Hi Andrew , just letting you & the rest of your followers know that on the 4th February 2022 , Paul McCartney & wings are releasing wings wildlife ( a Half - speed Masterd Vinyl ) which was released 50 years ago yesterday ( 7th December 1971 ) so that's something to look forward too , it's a limited edition release.

Hi friend! This video its amazing, this bootleg contains one of my favs Dylan's songs ever: Cross three Green Mountain. I want to buy all the deluxe CD with Book edition of the Bootleg Series, and I have a question... You have number 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, but which ones like those exits? I mean, deluxe edition with Book. Thank you so much! Ive seen Dylan three times for my short age (26) but was the best experience with live music among with Van Morrison and U2

Every time there’s a new Dylan release (like Shadow Kingdom) I go down a Dylan rabbit hole for a while, and even though I have all the 2 cd bootleg series releases, whenever I’m on that journey I start to get the itch to go back and buy all the expanded multi disc versions, but I just don’t know how much more of that stuff I’ll actually listen to. Personally the Beatles are the only act that I enjoy listening to numerous outtakes released on the box sets (not numerous enough) so that’s what I’ve limited myself to, but I can easily see a day where I go back and get those big Dylan bootleg series boxes. I probably should start soon while most are still available !

This is THE Bob Dylan Bootleg to own! The Holy Grail and treasure trove of wonderful (alternate) versions and outtakes. Enjoy! PS: 'Springtime in New York' is also very good. I recommend the deluxe version, but I guess, you have your mind set on that one anyway...lol

Never knew this even existed. It happens to be my personal favorite of the bootleg series. The time period & songs have always resonated with me. You remind me from your experience to continue to seek for those recorded gems. Eventually, ( sometimes when you least expected) a copy appears & you go for it. Enjoy it! PS- this prompted me to put on the 2 disc copy.

I remember a few months after this came out, I went into the Fopp record shop in Cambridge and they had a tower of them on the floor for, I think, £20 each. I picked up mine and it’s the only large Bob set I have. All far too expensive at the normal price!

Been after this set for a while, but as you said it's very expensive whenever it's put on eBay. I have heard some of the 3rd discs content as it is currently available on Spotify. I haven't got the Springtime in New York set either however I do hear it's very good.

Thanks for the video Andrew, great to see this set 'up close' for the first time. The singles book looks like the highlight for me, but I agree I is strange why they included it... my only guess is that it was at the time of super deluxe box sets just starting to emerge and they were figuring out what to do...? This was the holy grail for me up until a few years ago and caused me some discomfort because there were all these songs that were locked away by the high price tag. I saw the vinyl version in a record shop for 70 quid last year but skipped it and really regret that as I think that's even more high priced than the cd (even though it only covers 2 discs). Since the 3rd disk was put up on Spotify my longing for it lessened because it gave me access to the music. Upon listening to it I feel as though the content on the third disk unfortunately does not rival the amazing first 2 discs. Stuff like the third take of missisppi and second take of red river shore are in my opinion 'more of the same' and I think again it goes back to the point I made earlier about the time being the emergence of the deluxe box. Since this, the bootleg series has evolved and the deluxe sets have been more about the music, culminating in the monumental trouble no more... I think it's 8 discs and 1dvd. Anyway thanks again, I will cease this long message. Just to say thanks for the Get back videos as it encouraged me to get disney + for a month and watched all 3 episodes... it's certainly the best documentary I've ever seen. Plus I've been really getting into the beatles big time like never before.... FIN

Wow never knew the 3rd disk even existed. Springtime in NYC is awesome.

I've been tempted by this set a few times but could never justify the price for it. I will however cave in at some point as my OCD needs it for the collection! The Springtime In New York boxset by the way is excellent, highly recommended!

Don't know how I bumped onto this. All in all Damn good content 🙌🙌. I also have been watching those rather similar from MStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys create these clips. MStar Tutorials also had cool info about similiar money making things on his vids.

I am happy for you but I am not a fan of the voice, I have HW66 and Blonde on Blonde and that is all I can stand from him. I still agree that he is an amazing poet so I prefer to read his words rather than hearing them. I say this without malice.

Good design for sure, but im not a fan of Dylan his voice is awful, even though his lyrics are great.
