Just a suggestion, but you might wanna check out a weed guard for your trolling motor. They are the cat's meow for going through the lillys trying to get back to the bays around here for bass. I'm in Northern Minnesota- Bemidji area.

I'll have to look into those, I have a weedless prop on my trolling motor currently but when it comes to the heavy stuff it bogs down just as any prop would do.

Gotta come up here, and try Clearwater lake or lake Bemidji. Bemidji has got some nice muskies in it. That's a good fighting fish.

Great video btw im looking at boats. For two angler's would 14 ft give you more room to fish

Yes, if you plan to fish two guys a 14 footer or longer is definitely the better choice. 12 feet is good for one man on a calmer day, but as soon as some wind comes in it becomes unsafe quick. Hope this helps!

Love my 1966 Alumicraft v hull, yours looks similar! Nice mods, what trolling motor are you using?

Thanks! It’s a 47lb thrust minnkota all terrain, it’s been a great motor so far.

@@MissionForFishing Cool, Thanks, I use a 4 hp 2 stroke main motor, and have a 30lb endura on the transom, but since I added a fishing deck, would like to put the trolling motor up front. Love the boat, so stable and predictable!

Yes, the older alumacraft tinners are surprisingly stable for their age. That sounds like a great setup, I've heard good things about the enduras too but I'm not sure if Minnkota offers a conversion kit or different bracketing, but that could be an option. I bought mine used in the off-season for dirt cheap.

Did you follow TBNation? I too am a tiny boater. I fish out of Fairmont area though. Let me know if you're headed out to hanska, and maybe we can cover more water with two boats.

I’ve watched a few of TBNation. He makes some really good boats. Fairmont area is pretty good but I’ve never fished it open water before. I do have to get out to hanska yet this year. I might try to make my way over there in a week or two, but two boats sound better than one so I’ll have to let you know.

Its a Lund n12. I believe Lund still offers the same boat with a few changes (specifically to the seats) in their current a12 model.
