Boa knot- a secure binding knot
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I demonstrate the Boa knot. This is a secure, simple binding knot. But sometimes it is not the easiest to get used to, so I made this video to hopefully help you learn it.

Great knot... I have tied this one for years... I do it a bit different and a bit quicker... but the same result...
Hey Mark, is there a way to tie the Boa knot to a rod that both ends are inaccessible, like on a fixed rod?

Nobody seems to show that way
Nicely done. Thank you.
Its just like a double constrictor knot
I need to know how to tie it without being able to slip it over the end!
I do not have Ultimate Encyclopaedia of Knots and Ropework, just wondering if you consider that a book worth getting?

Hey! Well it depends. It is a good book for sure. I would say it is mostly suited for people getting into ropework since it has a little bit of everything. I think almost anyone can benefit from it, but for someone experienced like you it will have some things you already know (mats, lashings etc.). Hope that helps, Mark

I may have bought the book because of the word Encyclopedia, thinking that it was jam full of knots. I wonder if this is the predecessor to click bait???

Nah, in this case the book is legit. I have used it quite a bit and I must say it is a good knot book. It is accurate, informative and just a solid piece of work. Naturally it is not as extensive as the ABoK, but few books are. As a general knot book it will not disappoint. Mark
looks between a double constrictor knot and a double figure 8 hitch
Is there a way to do the knot multiple times to cover the entire object?

I understand that this comment is 3 years old, but the type of knot you are looking for is called a "Lashing." There are many types.
looks like the hitch known as the double figure 8 hitch...4 turns 3 bars
Looks like you're tying a mid line clove hitch and just twisted it in half before applying. Not just looks like, its exactly what it is. I love knots that build off of other knots. 1st knot you ever learn is an overhand knot. The next should be a square knot, which is the overhand knot repeating inversely.
