You used to get some really good meets there back in the day before they pulled the siding out. Of course, it pissed off the locals because all of the crossing would be blocked for a long time. There was no siding in Kempner back then.

It is really a great place to railfan. Since last summer, BNSF has been running a lot of trains through Copperas Cove at night, starting about 9pm. There are no lights downtown to help the video, so I catch what I can during the day.
