BNSF Trains passing each other on the Cajon Pass Summit January 7, 2017
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Soaking up the last moments of desert railfanning. Enjoy!! My favorite part I will miss at Cajon Pass. getting two trains passing. It was wild today with the August, 2016 fires. Burnt plants and various roads were shut down for replanting and replacements.
So far, my mother and stepdad have moved and are officially in Lexington, KY. I am in Vegas until January 21st when I fly up to Lexington.

I saw 5 engines pulling a mile of cars in the Columbia gorge and they were going up an incline and the sound in the gorge was incredible. I think it's the best sound you can hear.
Nice view! and very excellent freight trains.
Out of all rail fan vids, these are my favorite ones to watch “Cajon Pass” , Im going to model this on my Ho scale train set.

Amazing to see the great trains ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful Rock cut
Good collection , Cajon Pass!
Great Video! Love seeing the Trains on the Summit, but I do wish someone would get up there on that hill at the very summit and film looking back downhill and on around the curve so we could see what's around that curve at the very top!!
Awesome the videos just come up in my recommended videos must be because am playing the game with this line in it . Great to see the loco in real live footage
Very longest freight trains.and Cajon Pass is amazing pass.
Nice view and Location... At a time two freight trains ... Great thank to camera man
Felt very blessed to see eight monsters upfront hauling the load, from 4.11 onwards

Ese último con 8 máquinas era muy corto yo creo 4 eran que se estaban de regreso. Ahora los trenes usan entre 2 y 5 y luego ponen en el punto de peso medio del tren y atrás para distribuir la fuerza, todo controlado por por computadora.
Oh my God.. U just killed the charm of the whole thing by taking away the focus from the 2nd train. Oh my word! U must've followed the train and not the mountains.. the curve and turn of the train were most fascinating which u missed completely...
Trains and cajon will forever remind me of 1989 disaster on Duffy street

I lived not far from there that was a real spectacle.
A train led by seven locomotives. I have seen that. Usually that much power is distributed along the train.
Awesome shots ! 👍🏻
Excellent capture.

Can Cajon Pass run trains are freight trains only.
Love USA
🙏👌
Nice 8 unit consist on that second train!
Why so many engines? I would assume 4-6 gets the job done. Are they dead in tow?
@SoPacStudios
4 жыл бұрын
No. The train is a mile or more long and going over one of the steepest passes on the west coast and maintaining a Track speed of 60 to 80 Mph. This is why 8 engines are needed
8 loks ??
are all 8 locos physically needed for that 2nd train it only had 79 wagons.

dapto234 I would think some of them were dead in tow being dropped somewhere else, but you never know in this part of the country. There’s hills all over the place!

@@GMTX-kg8ep those who don't make videos don't know how difficult it can be to get the shot right. Then there's weather, people jumping into the shot, background nose, wind noise, and equipment failure/ operator error. On the other had some channels talk about how difficult some things are about making videos, when it really isn't. More or less it is what you put into it. It is as difficult as it is easy. I encourage trolls to make there own videos and see what it is like on the other side of the glass. So far, no takers.

Gotta ask...just *WHAT* is that piddly little bypass siding for on the far right? It looks like it couldn't more then a single locomotive. (Or is that what it IS for?)

Dave Greenlaw some of these were added in 2008 due to the increase in traffic. It depends on what you’re referring to. I don’t know very much about this place. I no longer live here.

hi Indian you country
Nice video but you should learn a little something about « editing », free in Microsoft. Those cliffs when you pan from « coming » to « going away » dont’t need to be there and indicate to me , inexperienced in shooting trains. Also, most railfans don’t shoot trains coming «straight on », but at a small angle to the diesel locomotives. All in all, not bad; 7 out of 10 score.
