I was confused on the judging like a lot of people, but after reading the comments it seems that they don't count falls. I definitely see how that could encourage risk taking, but I think it's just a little different from what people are used to where 1 fall could cost a guy a place (which adds drama! lol). Regardless the riding was awesome and cool that the course wasn't just ledges and rails

“Overall impression” judging generally let’s riders worry about what they pull and not what they don’t. Of course, if they spend most of their runs falling, they don’t pull much either.

Dennis 1st .. he showed some really hard park tricks... but for example Garrett, as usual, some really hard and difficult street stuff. This park is more like a street park, so Dennis should have done some more difficult street action to really proof and deserve the 1st - espacially in this contest.

I just started the video. Pretty disappointed seeing Ty Morrow not wearing a helmet, and I'm sure there are others. I know street guys think they are too cool for helmets, but there are a lot of kids watching these events and this is not setting a very good example. It only takes one fall. You're letting me down Vans, not something you do often.
