Fast ride. Experts say the ride is stiff! How do you find the ride? If you have driven a Porsche how does it compare? From your video it seems a bumpy ride.

I've only driven a Cayman R. That has more grip, stiffer suspension and the motor is more powerful and more eager to rev. It's not a fair comparison. A 2.9-liter 265hp Cayman 987.2 would be close I imagine.

How can I safely learn to drive like this in my Z4?

Practice on tracks. Take it slow learn your car and get better tyres and suspension. There's also driver courses and and stuff you can do.

DG Thank you 255/35/18 rear on my z4 coupe and it is not safe in high speed like yours so maybe my tire size in 18 is the culprit

I think stiffer springs and dampers would help a lot (mine is basically stock). If I would invest in some new rims/tires I'd probably look at 245/18 front and rear (if that fits).

My first thought was the car should handle better. Maybe a upgrade in tires would help. I drive a Z4 coupe and handles better not knocking your driving skills

A terrible suspension setup. Stock dampers and lowering springs with a progressive springrate. Leaves me with something that is underdamped and not really suitable for the track. But it's all about fun. I imagine with a coilover set and better tires I can go under 8 min.

That's a Renault Megane RS, if you don't know what it is, the previous top version (RS 275 Trophy) with no mods was quicker on Nürburgring than BMW F10 M5 Competition, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, Ferrari F430 F1 , Porsche 911 Turbo (996) , BMW M2, etc etc... RenaultSport wanted to prove something, and it built that front wheel drive track focused car. Some of those cars have twice the horsepower.

@@kay19833 son, check the official fastest lap times: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C3%BCrburgring_Nordschleife_lap_times ( Renault Mégane RS 275 Trophy-R ) and name the cars slower than that. YOU JUST GOT SCHOOLED! kids these days, fact checking not in their instinct...

Even if it can be quicker, it looks like dog's rotten poop compared to a sex machine like the Z4. Or the S2K.

u got balls but the car understeer like crazy, z4 with proper setup can handle much better

What would you recommend? Car is pretty much stock and on narrow (225) average street tires. Some of the corner I enter too hot so the fronts fight for grip. I only do 2 laps a year when I happen to be close to the N'ring so I try to make the most of it. :)

the easy way to get rid of that understeer is to install a front camber kit and a thicker rear sway bar. then some stikier tires of course

Camber kit would be nice. Right now I have -1.1 front (maxed out on stock setup) and -2.3 rear. I could really use some coilovers with stiffer springs to get some of that roll out and reduce that rear camber again. I had the rears at -1.5 before and it was sliding everywhere in fast corners.

yeah coilovers would be nice, you could go by trial and error getting the best from weight balancing. probably rising the rear a bit
