@@Freerider93 yeah after test-driving both i got the x2. they're both the same ride height and feel. the only signifiant difference being the smaller trunk/boot. imo, the x2 looks sportier and more beautiful too. drive is very comfortable and definitely catches eyes time to time.

The new BMW X4 is one of my favourite SUV's

I absolutely love it, I know it's going to get a lot of criticism but it's still gonna sell anyway, obviously if you have a family and you want comfort get the x3 no problem it's cheaper anyway. BMW offers exclusivity and if I had the money I would definitely get the x4 over the other X cars, it's basically a more affordable x6 and the people who can buy it will consider that and they will be happy BMW offers so many choices. Many people say oh another useless car but since BMW can produce so many cars, I'm happy for the company. The dashboard can look way better with extras but yeah I wish they changed it a bit more. The car is beautiful in every way to me. I'm not looking to argue with people that's just my opinion. By the way BMWs look WAY better in reality, they are stunning.

Dan McCarthy no but I went to Munich, Germany. I saw what I usually see 3 series,5,7, x3,x5. There are MANY models I haven't seen on the road. I've seen them at BMW Welt.

Mercedes has a much more varied lineup than BMW. They build EVERYTHING from subcompacts to big rigs. My Merc sure as hell isn't a taxi, that's for damn sure. Have you ever seen a taxi with a retracting hardtop?

Ever think the reason Mercedes are used as taxis so much is because they can hold up to that kind of abuse? BTW, I've yet to see a Mercedes taxi in the US.

Dan McCarthy yeah they can hold up that kind of abuse that's why mercedes drivers here at least are always at the mechanic. I got in 10 mercedes and i wanted to puke in 7 of them, the way they drive and sit you down makes me sick. Everyone says BMW hold their value best, go look at some reviews. BMW shares parts with Rolls Royce since they own them and mercedes is owned by lancia I think?!! Sums it up.

Love these reviews. I wish you could talk about the siting on the front seats, particularly how high is the seat: this is especially good to know for taller drivers as the taller the seat, the more comfortable is for taller persons.

The X4 is just fine inside! I hardly use the back seats but I have sat on a couple of trips and there's no issues! I'm 1.83m. This is one of the best cars I have ever owned! Faultless! I'd never touch a Range Rover!

Tuddec I just don't see where paying $7000 more for an X4 vs. X3 is worth it. You get less for more money. It may be sportier but it's still a crossover, or whatever you call them these days.

I've been waiting for the test of the new X6!

I love how they've started to flesh out the product range now finally. I have to admit though when you said it was as fast as a M3 from 10 years ago, it didn't sound very impressive.

I have to admit the x6 (and this) has grown on me. It's not until you see the x6 in person do you fully appreciate it's road presence. Still not pretty but then again neither is a Range Rover and that has tons of presence.

Advantages over x3: Better aerodynamics so better economy at higher speed and perhaps less wind-noise for the rear passengers Better handling so it's has better active safety and a bit more fun to drive. You can check the moose test (type maniobra de eaquiva) Looks for some, others prefer x3 Not sure why it is more expensive than the X3. Possibility because they build fewer or because they use some more expensive features I would choose the x4 because of the extra safety. The same applies for the 2018 generation now.

turpioSE I just got my X4 on order. The Reverse camera is not standard i had to buy it as an option.

If you want a more stylish (and probably spacier) version of a classic sedan, why would you buy this over a 3-series GT? Same story with X6 and 5 GT.

8 wouldn't be for the i8 - it would be for the 8 Series. Sadly, that's not made any more.

+haris jameel Well it depends what you are after. The BMW (you didn't say which so I will put the X4 20d) have bigger boot space, 4x4 as standard, it's a head turner, has better economy but it has a manual gear box (I like that, but I don't know if you like it too) (the C300 has auto as standard) and it's already more expensive so If you want the auto X4 you have to pay extra. The Mercedes-Benz is a little less practical (still very practical, but less than X4), in my opinion it has a better interior (I think the C Class interior is the best in this class) and has more power and is faster. Anyway, they are quite similar so CHOOSE WITH YOUR HEART! Hope I helped :)

I think that BMW really buys car reviewers. Cause these bmw always is so perfect in theyr eyes..but in real life people would say something else. Best diesels in bussiness...yeah right...dream on!

I had an x4 courtesy car, it doesn't drive well, it's a bouncy castle on wheels

Which is better looking than the X6 and better value for money by the way.

I don't understand how people can praise the iDrive. It is not intuitive and all those icons on the left of the map are difficult to manage while driving. I am on my 3rd BMW, currently driving a 5-series estate from 2015 and I hate the iDrive.

What a beautiful car! I'd buy one right now if I could.

I hate the X6, as well as this thing. I personally think the X3 looks better and the visibility is much more wonderful and it's much more spacious.

I mite think about getting one of those because the children always complain about leg room

X4 looks anywhere decent with m-sportpackage and 20" wheels.

Lucky I found this review here was going to check one out to buy this week stuff that its s a toy in the back could not stand it no vision out of back window, no boot space a massive left down for a car that drives so great. F.....😳

The entry price points of the x4 and the macan are different. The x4 offers so much more kit for the money. Plus a 2liter diesel with 190hp/400nm of torque are not offered on the macan. So my educated choice will be the x4. Its cheaper to tax as well and less harmful to the environment.

aliGyo btw don't get me wrong, I am not saying the macan is bad, its just that looks wise the x4 appeals to the same crowd and in EU countries the diesel option being available as a 2L (and the best 2L diesel that is) is much more appealing to drivers because of the price difference

This X4, X6 and that minger GT are the only BMWs that I would never buy.

Would you have a 5 series or an e class

I disagree about the look is better than the Piggy shaped X6. Agree with everything else small rear window, reduced trunk, tigher rear seats and head space, all for more $$$ than the X3. If you want this size vehicle, better value and size is the X3.

BMW has very good diesels, but "the best in the business"??!

The X4 is related to the X3 sharing most of it's parts but is a coupe version of the X3 and a larger coupe SUV version of the 3. In my opinion, the X4 won't be the practical car if you carrying luggage and rear passenger of the sloping roofline I recommend the Porsche Macan is better for carrying passengers and luggage. The rear visibility is not so good because of the sloping roof line I recommend to tick the lists and get the surround view camera system which helps when you are manoeuvring or parking in spaces. Lastly, the design of this car doesn't work well as the X6 and the coupe theme is unsatisfactory.

So the front of the X6 looks good but its not practical at all. This one is ugly and not practical as well, so what is the point of it?

who gives a shit if you guys don't like it! BMW sells so many of it's practical 5 star rated cars such as the 3 series, and X3 that they have so much money to fill in any sort of auto industry niche! Haha suckers BMW rules!

Stop fucking up back seats companies

BMW really are producing some weird cars these days. If you want a coupe, get a coupe! If you want a SUV get an SUV! These weird amalgamations seem to compromise both cars characteristics (the exception being the Porsche Macan but then its a Porsche....) The rear seat space in this is appalling and just because they made it with a slopey roof to appeal to the fashionistas!

I just sicked up in my mouth a little bit...
