My mom has the Evoque and its admittedly a beautiful car inside and out, but I'm a BMW man. The X3 interior looks classic and classy. Nearly perfect IMO.

0:30 gah. i know the car is just a demonstrator but i had to cringe after seeing that suitcase being dragged over the bumper and leaving an angry scratch on it...

Ouch! That scratch when he "slide" the luggage out the rear.

The X3 30d is the best one to but,plenty of stump pulling power and economy,great looks too!

That load cover and seat releases are almost the same as a MG ZTT I had. Which was almost the same as a 5 series. My son had the 5 and it was like the same car re bodied

What's the LONG-TERM reliability of the X3 like ? I have a five year old Mazda CX-5, which has developed a whining sound from the auto transmission. Looks like it will need a new gear box (at only 5 years old, and 65,000 miles ?) I need to find a car I can rely on.

I don't know what the big deal is with the evoque! It's got a slow noisy Diesel engine made by ford, it's stupidly expensive, doesn't look that new anymore, probably not as reliable as the BMW either and i highly doubt it handles as well as the BMW!

surom123 your last two points were guesses. Evoque not that more expensive than this. Im sure its better off road. it will probe get an upgrade soon too. Then it will replace those rubbish diesel engines. Just like the previous x3 2.0d was rubbish. Evoque looks way better than this and the updated one will look even better. x3 from £30,865 ad that is for a manuel 18d.

The range rover looking better than this is a matter of opinion I guess, however I just think the evoque isn't as meaty or as chunky as the bmw, just looks abit fancy! As for the Diesel engine, when bmw launched the x3, all diesels were shitty and loud but now this is 2015, and a brand like range rover have no excuse! I say shitty and loud because my auntie has one and it literally sounds like a 2001 e220 cdi! As for price, the base one may be cheap but what range rover has done is made. Standard evoque look so shit with small wheels and non LED lights, it's like they've forced customers to spend a load of money on them, where a standard base x3 still looks good because it isn't trying to be sometbing it's not

Same here. I test drove the Evoque a few years ago and it was nothing special inside. Plus that gear knob is ugly as hell. Just feels wrong changing gears with a rotary knob -.-

Am I the only one who can't tell these models apart? Seriously, I think most BMW models have looked the same since 2005. Also, I think the interior looks pretty outdated. It has that 90s look.

True history I was looking at some new series 5 and it looks almost exactly the same as the series 3. If I'm paying more for the higher end model I want to feel special and having the same look as the low end model doesn't help at all.

Yup, the rear bumper got scratched. Not the reviewers problem, these cars have *form over function*. It should have a plastic sacrifice covering the top of the bumper.

Meni Fo i don't know but there are hundreds of journalists and thousand of wanna-be journalists, maybe there's a waitlist. Probably they also not have time to review every single car so they pick out the most interesting first.

i stopped looking after he damaged the rear bumper like that... such a shame

Nice car yes, but have you tried the "4 wd-system" in heavy winter conditions? I have and was not impressed. But is is a brilliant summer car, just don't use in in winter conditions😀

Sorry but the mpg you said is not possible. 45 mpg is more accurate. That is with steady driving. Also the disrespect you have for cars you review is disgusting.
