Hey Sub Family, An oil change is one of the most necessary and vital services for your car. Synthetic oil usually should be changed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
The oil should be amber in color and relatively viscous. If you open your hood and see oil that's dark or sludge-like, it's time for an oil change. However, many manufacturers recommend changing your oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months
2004-2010 BMW X3 runs on synthetic oil that is grade 5W-30.
Synthetic oil 5W-30, 0W-30 (All TEMPS)
Engine Oil Capacity: 6.6 quarts (with filter). [After refill check oil level]
For Liqui Moly Pro-Line Engine Flush just add the entire bottle to your engine oil, start the car and let it idle for 10min to 15min, then You can run the LiquiMoly Engine flush through, for a maximum of 20min. then turn off the car and change the oil. Get your oil change supplies ready so that once you're done with the engine flush you can drain the oil and replace with fresh oil and filter.

Thank you, for such a great explanation with all needed details. Looking at your video it seems possible to doit yourself proyect, but I know is not going to be that easy. But at least I'd know that I'm not getting screwed by a mechanic. Great information on all the tools sizes and uses. Kudos to you, from El Salvador.

You made a excellent choice buying the 2009 BMW x3 e83, they are extremely reliable and easy to maintain! Just make sure to do your normal maintenance like Change oil and filter, Rotate and inspect tires, Inspect brakes and also change out all the old fluids with new fluids and inspect them to see if any are low and need topped off. Doing all this will increase the longevity of your BMW x3 e83. My x3 2004 after change oil, I tried to reset it but I still see same number of inspection appearing. What should I do fir it to give me new inspection numbers?
In case of the oil is reduced and I need to refill the level is ok

Yes, you can top off your BMW's oil if the level is below the minimum mark. You should check your oil at least once a month or every 1,000 km. The Reason for the O ring coming out of your Engine Oil Filter Housing Cover when you tighten it down is because Over time, the housing material can weaken or become brittle, leading to cracks and eventual failure. So I recommend you to replace the Engine Oil Filter Housing and it will come with new O rings. You must replace all 3 of them every oil change. Is possible to add oil if the car warm

When you Check the level of the oil on the dipstick and If it reads at or below the “low” or “add” line-or if there's no oil on the dipstick at all-you'll need to add oil Immediately to prevent damage to your vehicle's Engine. Also Adding oil to a warm engine is generally acceptable and will not cause any damage to your engine, but always be cautious because you might risk injuring yourself during the process. But I highly doubt you will, so you should be fine doing so. Also i recommend you to park it and wait for 10 to 15 minutes before you top up your engine with oil that's only if you want to but you don't have to wait just to top it off.
