Did you get rid of the m56 valve cover?

Yup, kept having weird crankcase pressure issues. Mentioned it in the pinned comments of my M56 videos. Never got the setup figured out entirely, it was always blowing out valve cover gaskets. The car is my daily and I didn't really want to deal with it so I found an aftermarket M54 aluminum cover which I use now. Been great so far!

Good to know. I've had mine on for about 10k miles with no issues. I also didn't mess with the original m56 ccv diaphragm and used the m56 ccv hose. Man I miss my e39 a great comfortable daily before I exchanged it for my e46. I'm still always on the look out for a 5 speed mt 6 cylinder e39 here in socal.

Is it fine to just change the spring? Do you think that timing chain guide could be damaged if this issue has persisted for a quite long time? I have been struggling with quite loud ticking issue for a while now... almost everything except Timing chain tensioner has been done to my car that could make the noise. Here is a video of that noise: kzread.infodBsrMjYxtc0 Any ways good video mate!
